The front wheels do a number on the lower rear quarter panels with gravel and shit if you don't run flaps from my experience

I've been on all of it, just lucky, minus the paint issue 040 has of course

+1 for rokblokz 2 years on the truck no issues with a +1 offset and 33's. Now just to figure out how to mount them now that I'm clearance for 295's and -25 lost all the mounting points up front.

If you like the look of mudflaps, slap ‘em on. If you don’t leave ‘em off!

Funny how trends work. I’ve never run mudflaps and wouldn’t even put them on my truck. But I had a Subaru where it’s cool to use mudflaps so of course I used them.

I used rockblockz on my Subaru and they seemed good quality.

I like the clean look of the truck without the mud guards and the OEM tube steps, but every time I hear rocks just pelting the guards and the bottoms of the steps I'm glad they are there! I don't think these Nitto tires throw rocks as bad as other all terrain's I've had in the past, but they still throw plenty.

I’m running a set of rokblokz xl after putting on some -10 offset wheels. I like the clean look of no flaps but I also care about my paint.

in the past i never installed mud flaps on my trucks and hated the look.

my tacoma came with the factory installed mud flaps. i run stock size AT tires and the mud flaps did very little to keep mud off the truck or prevent chips in paint. i removed them.

rust is not a concern where i live so i intend to let the truck wear and age as it will, chips in the paint and all. from what others posted, it seems like there are brands of mud flaps that would be more effective than the OE but, they look hideous on this truck imo, even more than the chin strap which so many rail against.

The front factory ones broke off my 07 after 3 years. I took the rears off and never looked back. That was 13 years ago and I still don't have any paint damage from rocks. If your tires fit inside the fenders mud flaps are a waste of money. If you're using aftermarket wheels that push the tires beyond the fenders you need fender flares or extensions. Mudflaps are still a waste of money.

Mud flaps are only useful on flatbed trucks or big rigs that don't have fenders.

BTW, Toyota is one of only a handful of trucks that even offer mudflaps from the factory. I've owned 15 trucks and SUV's going back to 1976, none of the others have had mudflaps. Neither do 95% of the other trucks on the road. I've never had any damage from rocks coming from my truck or the thousands of others on the road with no flaps. And I average roughly 1000 miles/year on gravel roads.

They don't do shit on those either. But they are a great place to add a chrome sihlouette of a naked woman, or Yosemite Sam.
