New Tacoma owner here. I recently bought a 2008 4x4 TRD DblCab and I'm wondering what this is on the muffler. I don't know much about vehicles besides changing my own oil. I'm pretty sure its the reason why the truck sounds louder than normal Tacomas, but is that all it does? Just for looks and sound? Any MPG effects? Any info is appreciated!

Looks like just a tip welded on there. Have you checked to see if you have an aftermarket muffler? Just a tip won't really make it louder and a resonated tip would quiet the exhaust.

Look at the actual muffler under the truck, see if there is a name or part number then put it in google.

Well, the stock muffler looks like a 55 gallon drum. :D Look at your muffler and see if you see welds around where the tubing connects. Welcome to TW by the way.

That's what we call a "bro tip" usually if you look carefully you'll also see a green M similar to this somewhere.

You're using 'flowmaster' in a generic sense, not necessarily that brand?

If you like it that's all that matters. A new muffler and installation will run you about $100-$200.
