Ive been doing some research and it seems that for some reason my muffler and catalytic converter have no end bolt pieces where they connect, maybe the previous owner did some sawzalling/welding, im not sure. My original plan was to get a new muffler and just attach it to the catalytic converter but I cant do that. So I was thinking of getting a new cat (150$) and bolting it to the cat above it, and then a new muffler ($116) and bolting that to the new cat. I can do this with Bosal parts

That is the diagram Ive been looking at. Im basically wondering if this is a good idea, or if there is an easier way, I mean I could pay a mechanic to weld on a new muffler but for the same price I can buy a new muffler and CAT and put it in myself. Any and all help or info is much appreciated-thank you

If you buy both the cat and muffler with pipes as in the second diagram it is a pretty quick bolt in swap...just be sure to get new "doughnuts" for the flange area as it seems you be missing at least one of them...
