Just put a VX muffler on my 2011 v6 4.0 Tacoma and it sounds like crap. What's the best muffler to put on it to get the deepest agressive tone out of the truck? Seen some videos of people straight piping them but I don't want to spend more money just for it to sound awful again.

    It's really difficult to make a V6 sound like a V8.

I talked to my exhaust expert in town about doing dual exhaust, etc. He straight up said, "I won't do it. Not on your truck." He says it robs the back pressure from these modern engines and it would kill horsepower.

The ONLY Tacoma I've heard that seriously sounded like a V8 (I literally argued with the guy over whether he'd done a motor swap) had Thorley Long Tube Headers, and X-Pipe, and a dual outlet. That truck sounded sick just sitting at idle.

Here's a crappy video of my exhaust, from inside the cab. I've got a Spintech 6000 muffler. I also had the exhaust tip cut off (axle dumps) and had the factory cross over moved (better off-road ground clearance).

Here's what my Spintech 6000 sounded like with everything else still factory (w/ K&N Air Intake).
