    There are mountains in TX. AND, New Mexico dominates Colorado. Because there's way less yuppies.

    I'm a teacher. I'm just taking a metal fabrication hobby class at the local community college. It's great. We have access to any type of welder, breaks, shears, iron workers, band saws, plasma cutters, etc. The professor is great. He just shows you how to use the equipment and turns you loose. If you get stuck he'll either help you or do it for you. The local businesses donate metal. We have stacks of metal (mainly 3/16" thick sheet) to use as we wish. Right now I'm making skid plates. Next semester will be plate bumpers. You should check your local community college for something similar.

    Nice man, My aunt works for the school. I forgot what one.

    Yeah that sounds like a great class. Our welding classes at my college suck. Its all arc welding. My uncle is a welder up there so he is the one who taught me some things and gets me a good deal on steel up there. You have many great fabricators where you are at. Good luck on the skid plate. THats my next project too.

    No you don't want your truck out in this stuff. You could certainly putt around but to get into anything more serious, ground clearance, armor, and traction devices are big winners. Either ride up with Dom, or another ABQ guy (hopefully more are coming). If not, drive up, leave your truck at my house and ride with me. Since I'm going to be so busy trying to be a good host, my wife said she and the kids aren't coming. She's not sweating it though. We do the camping all the time and she's just heh on wheeling.

    ...but seriously... I actually love it here. wouldn't trade it for the world. except maybe New Zealand, or hawaii, or ... colorado....
