Drove the 2016 today and while driving on the interstate, I noticed that the little speed limit sign that usually populates the bottom right corner under the compass was gone. Any ideas why this may have happened?

I'll take a look the next time I get in the truck. In general, I've noticed that it comes and goes based on the road and if the information is available for that particular stretch.

Did you update your map data recently?

I think that's it. Some roads don't have the mph. But I believe there's a setting for it as well.

The stretch of road I was on has showed the speed sign icon up until today. I retrieved an SD disk to get updates...

Thanks for the replies guys - I'll check and see what settings exist, I'm baffled since I just made the same trip yesterday and the settings were not touched.

If you use the buttons on the steering wheel there is a speed limit options in the settings menu on the MFD.

Could it perhaps be linked to the navigation? I haven't ever payed it any attention, but now I am curious. I wonder if it only shows when nav screen is active.

It is. When I swapped my base entune for the entune premium the options were added to my MFD

My radio screen is always off. My mph still shows.

    Same here.

I was guessing this is a function of Entune. Does anyone not using the app have the speed limit showing up?

    Thanks!

That is interesting if it is on the map data card, esp how often speed limits are changed around here.

Damn. Now. I have to put less trust in it.

I thought I read somewhere that the windshield camera system thingy looks for speed limit signs. Maybe that supplements existing map data?

Just to be clear, not the MPH, but the max speed limit sign is the item in question

That is a yes for me. I mainly use the headunit to make calls with the four main quick dial contacts. Otherwise it is off and the speed limit sign shows up on the compass screen any time that I have looked.

I think this has been brought up in another thread before. When you noticed it was missing, did you notice if your navigation system was displaying the speed limit?

If the speed limit setting is turned on, and it is still not displaying, toggling between the Map and Home screen on the headunit will turn it back on. Sometimes on mine, when I first start driving, it does not display on the home screen (and the multi function display), but going to the Map screen, and then back to the Home screen turns it back on, on both the headunit and multi function display.

I hardly use the navigation. And yes - as daddy_o stated -> "Just to be clear, not the MPH, but the max speed limit sign is the item in question"

I rarely use Nav and that little max speed sign appears for me too.
