Has anyone here wired a multi mode light bar to an auxbeam switch panel? Just wondering how you would wire it to the buss box and and not lose the different modes.

i believe the best method is to insert the wire into the terminals, and then tighten the terminals using a screwdriver with the appropriate bit size.

it would probably be helpful if you posted exactly what/which models you're trying connect, as there's at least 2 variations of auxbeam panels, and no less than a dozen different multi-mode light bars on the market, so we're all just guessing at what you have and what you want to do anyways.

I know how to wire lights to the box. But some lights have multiple light modes. Some flash.. some are amber. Some are white. How ever when wired Independently, the have a switch that will allow you to change the different modes. My question is, knowing that we basically cut the relay and switch off to wire it to the auxbeam box. How do we wire it to the box and still retain being able to use multiple modes for the light bar?

it really depends on the light, and depends on the capability of the auxbeam panel you have. 1 model is a straight on/off panel, the other model has options for each output to be switched, momentary, or pulsed.

lights are the same. some lights expect a switched input for the mode, some look for a momentary input, and some require flipflop relays to alternate between functions. some have separate power/ground for functions, others have combined grounds with separate power functions, others flipflop functions in firmware only, and will only have a single power/ground. each require a different wiring configuration.

or, you could have something completely different that has none of that and requires a proprietary digital communication protocol that the auxbeam isn't compatible with. that would require a different strategy altogether.

You would use two of the buttons on the switch panel, one for white, one for amber.

I have a Rough Country 20" light bar with DRL option. Model 70920BD.

I cut the main harness coming from the light bar, eliminating the relays and power connection lead.

Connected the black and red wires to one of the 30amp channels (this is the main light bar) and the blue wire to one of the 15 amp channels (this is the DRL).

    Everything works as it should.
