anyways... the dude that floored it was a f'in moron.

 

Good hopefully no one turns this into a fail for me, haha. The first guy floored it, but the others I think TRIED to stop, lol.

 

Those cars were going sideways down the hill. It must have been sheet ice. There was probably some stupidity as well, but mostly just slick.

They went down a (I'm assuming) STEEP hill in a snow/ice storm.

The city should have closed that street off before that ever happened.

 

Stupidity doesn't just have to be behind the wheel....Walking out the door with the intent to drive on a day like that- Dumb idea.

Need medical help- Let the pros handle it and call an EMS unit. Need food- That's mopre stupidity- Shoulda looked at the weather. With the amount of snow and ice that looked like there was- No reason to go out.

 

and if you really really needed food.... just walk! just be careful not to bust your ass!

 

The road has obviously been there for a while. Depending on where this was I would agree with you. Up north it should have already been sanded and salted though. down south or in other snow-less places, can't hardly blame them for not having the road closed and or cleared.

 

If I went by those rules I would never leave the house.

 

KING 5 is seattle, so I'm guessing its probably Queen Anne, those are the nasty hills in seattle.

 

So they know snow over there. The road should have been done and the people should know better. Also, roads can turn to ice in a matter of minutes with the right conditions. The weather can say one thing and something else will happen.

 

I wouldn't say that. I'm a native oregonian and lived in Seattle for over a year. The northwest doesn't typically see much snow at sea level. The mountains for sure, but not typically in the cities. Occasionally we'll get a dusting, but 9 times out of ten, any weather system that will approach land will warm up overhead and prevent the snow from falling/sticking. I can only really remember one snow storm in my childhood that dropped about 12". This winter they got some though, the video might be recent.

 

Ok, I figured they would get a fair amount of snow, at least enough to know what to do in it.
