So my uncle is up from az with his 99 taco. 210k miles, v6, auto, 4x4, 3.4, extended cab. Last tune up done at dealer sometime (unknown time/mileage) before 160k mileage. Unknown what was tuned. Has deck plate mod, k&n, which is stuck on. Cel is saying p0171 bank 1, p0120 tps, p0330 knock sensor 2 circuit bank 2. Symptoms are bogs when accelerating, feels like a misfire, when warming up runs rough, cuts out. I have advised to clean iac, and maf, and throttle body. Ideas? Advice. Working with a shoe string budget.

Ok so an update. I said heck with it and pulled the throttle body off and iac and cleaned both. Not the best, but %97.5 better. Runs great! But idles high around 1200 rpm when warmed up. Also cleaned maf. Wasn't too bad to begin with. Tb was NASTY! Shit ton of oil from a k&n!!

I would still change the upstream (front) o2 sensor, my rule of thumb is anything over 50k miles on them and replace them if you have the slightest doubt about it.

I would also clean the shit out of the MAF sensor because its going to be full of junk from that oil too and get him a dry air filter of go with oem paper filter and throw that crappy k& n away. I bet if you hold it up to a light you will see spots of light through it where dirt can go right through.

as for the high idle, maybe you forgot to reset the EFI (its getting a lot more air now that its clean) or you have a cracked vacuum line somewhere

The truck has multiple cracked hoses' craked air intake tube and so on. I cleaned the maf at the same time i did the throttle body. Reset the ecm or whatever the name is. Still idled high. Told him to put some miles on it. But i haven't heard from him since the day i posted all this.
