I juuuuust bought through Carvana for a 2019 Tacoma. Regretting this right now.

I need some pro insight here…

    multiple dash lights popping on:

    check charging systems
    High A/T Temp
    Low oil pressure

Gas gauge at a half tank
No leaks obvious to the eye
    Sounds fine
Went to auto zone - no codes triggered
    Battery and Alternator test fine

I have never owned a vehicle and within a week various systems are lighting up on my dash.

    insight most welcome!

Are they only there while you’re sitting with the key on but engine not running?

I had all those indicators when I was offroading on a 30 deg angle pitch. I got the truck level and everything was fine after that. Hope others can chime in. Goodluck and welcome.

Same thing here. I rolled backwards about 15 feet on a grade while the truck was in drive, and all those same lights came on and the engine stalled.

I turned the ignition off and then back on and all has been fine. That was about 30K miles/1 year ago.

Not sure if that could be related, OP.

Are these coming on while the vehicle is on/running or are you just turning the key without starting the vehicle?

Bingo! Key is in but engine isn’t cranked. Thoughts on this?

That’s normal for Tacomas. Nothing to be concerned about.

…thank you! The left dash - all kick on then off but on my right side they linger and there a flag in the messages center. It’s the battery light and the engine light that lingers then kicks off after the engine cranks. Seems odd -:)

Call it a test before you crank the truck over, you don't want to see those lights if the engine is actually running.

If you start it up, they all go away? If so..normal for some lights to be on with only the ignition on.

The whole panel lights up - seems normal then goes away. It’s the check engine light and the battery light that remains for a bit and then goes off. I have an appt on Monday at a Toyota dealership… it’s that battery light and engine that lingers but once the engine cranks it goes away. Seems so weird.

I would say you don’t need to take it to the dealership (but I’m not an expert). I’m honestly kind of surprised they didn’t just tell you that on the phone.

    Did your belt break?

That is "ACC" mode and "RUN" mode in a car with keys. Before you crank the engine the entire system is checking itself and throwing warnings because some parts are still inactive.

Just saw that you drove it. If it wasnt hard to turn, probably not your belt

They want a chance to upsell a $100 air filter and fuel injector cleaning.
