Must fill gas tank very slowly or gas pump handle will kick off.

My lady’s Audi does that dumb crap

 

I’ve found that only putting the gas handle to the first stop helps

 

this was my issue when I had OP’s problem. Replaced with an OEM canister and it’s been issue free ever since.

 

Sometimes vent hose at filler tube gets blocked up... cheapest bet Is to access it and blow air through it...

 

theres also a vent roll over valve if thats stuck then that would cause that too you need to lower the tank and install it its a pain to do had mine done when my smog stuff was done

 

Black DOG Lila thank you for the suggestion, Tacoma World members are helpful and share knowledge. I replaced the fuel check valve and can now fill the tank with the gas pump handle locked on the first notch.

I have a 3 inch body lift so I did not have to drop the tank or lift the bed up.

I’m having this same issue after letting someone siphon gas from my 2017 Taco after someone who ran out of gas , is there a fix for this without replacing the gas filler neck, there is no warning codes..

 

Replace the roll over valve at tank.
