Hey guys I was making a tool box just for my truck and was wondering what tools you guys think are a must have when it comes to daily driving/offroading your first gen? I already have a full socket set and some pliers, a road side assistance kit, and plans for a med kit. What else do you guys think is really important and should be on this list? I was going to make a video of the completed tool box as well. Let me know what you guys think! My channel is anyone's interested in following my build!

I have both sockets and wrenches (can’t do all of it with sockets), as well as a hammer. My hammer is actually a small axe/hammer combo so it’s pretty versatile. Open end adjustable (Crescent) is in there too. I also have a portable compressor as well as a basic tire repair kit.

Set up my kit for a solo cross country drive. Didn’t need it but nice to know it’s there.

Nice man, didn't think of tire repair/compressor combo! Good deal! Also are you the first gen highlighted on Tacomaholic's channel?

I usually have an assortment of zip ties, a short stretch of baling wire, a couple of chunks of electrical wire of a few useful sizes, crimp on connectors, wire clippers, strippers, and crimps, all along with the wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, hammer, pry bar(s), vice grips, etc...

Extra 10mm, and 14mm wrenches, and sockets, can dang near take half the truck apart with those.

not being an ass here, I hope anyway, no tool in the box is going to fix a poor decision.

Your toolbox is partially dependant of what type of off roading you are doing. Woods, grated dirt roads, desert, sand dunes etc. Now after having said that a good snatch strap, a high lift jack a couple of pair of leather gloves, some hand cleaner and rags and drinking water.

High lift jack, fire extinguisher, and basic survival gear are definitely on the list. Add a cooler for drinking water always! Right now I'm looking for small tools to fit in the box but I definitely agree with you on those. Especially in the desert, you go out without a lot of water you're asking for it.

I don't go on any wheeling trips w/o a floor jack, breaker bar, and all of my ratchets, wrenches, and basically all of my other tools. Lol. I'll even bring a couple of jack stands just to change a tire on the side of the road if it works for where I'm at. Same with a tire repair kit and compressor I bought for my new build. Oh and a shovel lol.

something else that I thought of after the post. I would find a way to put all of this stuff in the bed when wheeling. Things happen and in a rollover you dont want to be hit in the head with any of this.

I have been buying these Rigid boxes lately, they seem fairly strong.

My wheeling tool bag basically has everything I need to do something like swap out a CV axle or change fluid, remove/reinstall skids, tighten various bolts, etc.

So assortment of wrenches, sockets (including 35mm axle nut socket), torque wrench up to 250lbs, big hammer, power drill, extra nuts and bolts, locktite, various lubricants (silicone spray, tri-lube, wd40), breaker bar...stuff like that. It's a pretty big and heavy tool bag so I only take it with me on long trips or wheeling trips. Plus I wouldn't want someone breaking into my truck at night and taking it so I don't keep it in there. Short of that I just keep a basic kit in my truck with jumper cables, a few wrenches, screwdriver, wd40 etc.
