I've always been a fan of the camaro...well not so much in the 80's, but there wasn't exactly a lot of pretty cars coming out that decade...anyway as soon as the taco is paid off i plan to get one of those fancy new camaros

I love the camaro look, like the RS....

But if real muscle power is what you want, then I would go with the new corvette ZR1. :)
But the Camaro RS would be a good choise too.

The hind part of the Camaro looks like soggy baby poo and the interior is right there with it. The most recent design of the Stang looks a hell of a lot better than its predecessor. I'd say Stang just based on looks.

I'll agree with what others posted...there are def better cars out there for the money and for what you plan on using it for.

LS3, not LS2. Just like your GXP. I love those G8 GXP's by the way. A shame Pontiac got axed when they finally had a worthwhile car.

What? That was only first year when they only sold the SRT8 model. Beginning with the 2009 models the R/T and SRT8 are both available with a 6 speed manual.

Wrong. You can get the Challenger with a 6 speed manual.

And the SRT-8 can be had in Plum Crazy Purple.

I wish I could get one.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
Two vehicles I loved that I owned were my 94" Toyota pick up (Not yet dubbed Tacoma) And my 87" Firebird!

I mostly agree with your statemenet but I don't think the IS-F would beat a corvette on a street course (certainly not a Z06 or ZR-1). The Mustang might hang with it too.

Mustang all the way. Sorry, but in recent years GM's build quality is in the toilet. Mustang has the performance down to a art.

Mustang, for a number of reasons. When people are looking at V8 American muscle cars, they're thinking about straight line speed, and IMO the Mustang is better setup for that (live rear axle and all that.) Also, Ford's quality lately is quite a bit higher than GM's. I also really, really, don't like the Camaro's design. It just looks repulsive to me. IMO, Chrysler did a much better job with the Challenger. Finally, the 2010 redesign of the Mustang looks rather good.

Now, if you're looking for a car that handles, I wouldn't pick either of them. ;) If you're set on an American V8 car with handling, I'd go with a Corvette. Otherwise, some of the import AWD beasts would be at the top of the list.

Corvette ZR1 is amazing. It also starts at 108K. My pockets aren't that deep yet lol. If I was shelling out that kind of dough I'd probably be looking at Porsches. GTR also starts at 80k. I'm trying to stay below 50 if I can. Under 40k would be better.
