If horsepasture, on a scale is a 1. And Chestnut mt is a 10.
I'd say Mustergrounds is a 5. Nothing super technical but theres alot of history behind the Bad Creek Project.
And im not saying Chestnut mt is a 10 on an over scale of where I have wheeled. Only in this case.
It was dry when I went and when I went with Eric and the wife and kiddos. So no, no mud.
Besides...I pick up the truck after a full detail tomorrow....I dont do mud. :)

First time I went was right after that last hurricane that affected the area, and the rangers had cleaned it up pretty good.

Not 100% in yet. I can do this or go to Charlotte and pick up my winch, so if I get confirmation of TW Express happening or not will decide it for me.

Musterground is a different type of trail system altogether. What I got stuck on was a washout somewhere in Edgefield or McCormick county in SC. Musterground is up in the mountains right on the SC/NC border. It's just on the other side of Chestnut Mountain Rd.

I'll be meeting someone to sell my toolbox first thing Saturday morning in Summerville. Not sure what time yet. I want to try to make it up there if I am not too far behind yall and I am going to try to get that softopper that day too so I'll be in the area.

I wish I could do a different day for the sale but that is the soonest he can meet.

Well, maybe we should call it for another time.
It's going to be the 1st day it's open. Not sure what's in season to hunt but it will probably be packed in there.

Looks like I already had plans anyway. If anyone is in the Cashiers area, come see some cool, hi perf cars. Need to get mine dynoed again since it all broke in.

And that really rutted out section on the incline where you have to ride the wall a bit.

Haha...yes, but you know...that trip where you got stuck was a good thing. Now you are woke and about 90% able to self recover.

I would suggest 85ft of whatever diameter rope for your winch...and a 50ft extension.

The only thing that I'm in need of is some type of land anchor. Pretty much would be 100% self recovery with one of those.

I was looking at cut rebar and chain for a land anchor, but haven't found chain heavy enough yet.

What's wrong with your winch line and a land anchor. Or your winch line and a burried log?

Edit: actually, I doubt we ever have to worry about a land anchor around here if you have 85' line and a 50' extension. Lol.

Steve at SEO can make whatever length extension you need. I'm not sure if he sold his business or just changed the name.

The Deadman anchor is a pretty sweet looking deal for a land anchor and it's made in Va at Blue Ridge overland gear.
