Emergency backup for just in case. The winch I am picking up has synthetic line on it, but not sure how long.

I heard he was selling to some company out of Colorado.

I think they were looking for backing here on TW a while back. Had swag to give away for people who bought in.

That might work great in sand. Hate to have to dig a hole deep enough for it to work in hard dirt or Georgia clay.

I was thinking along the same lines, and when I showed the video to my wife she was like compare digging a hole to everything we tried to do to get the truck out of that mud hole. I would have been a hole digging fool! Rocky or hard ground the spike/rebar system would probably be a better bet.

I think this guy went a little overkill, the but the idea is solid.

I would also rather have it come flying if it were to come loose than rebar. :anonymous:

Did you watch that video? lol there is no way that rebar is going to come flying anywhere. Well, maybe if it was hammered into some soft clay or something, then the earth anchor would be a better choice.

Sand, rocks, clay, seems like there is a different option for everything. Prepare properly for the trip you are about to embark upon!

    Good times today @ClemsonMGM and @JayDub ! I didn't get too many pictures, but here's a couple.

    At the pipes.

The water was moving pretty good today and the trail was pretty soupy in spots.

At the trail head parking lot.

My youngest tagged along today and jumped in one picture. He smiled and said "CHEESE!"

At least I think he was smiling... He said cheese? :notsure:

That looks like the one they give you at the Holly Springs store. Nice score! I paid like 15 bucks to have it scanned on a large format scanner for HPR, but never realized it had Musterground on it.

Might be worth looking into.. take it to a print shop and get the map printed out and laminated large enough to see the routes.. I might do that next time I'm in town.

That's not coley creek though, it's the Thompson river.

When are these trails open to? I won't be free for a couple weekends but want to go next time I'm off.

    EDIT: I can't read.
