Cheaper by a lot. I bought that 3BR/2BA house brand new, with custom options, for $145,000...

The area surrounding Fort Leonard Wood is like one giant trailer park nestled in the woods, that gets 120+ heat index temperatures in the summer and sub-zero in the winter. Walmart is the "in thing" in this town. There are nice neighborhoods scattered about that are almost entirely military. You're paying a premium in a socal for the weather, outdoors, etc.

    Chase,
How are you liking your rear leaf spring pack? How good of a match is it for the AP LT front setup?

It's a great leaf pack for being spring over axle. It sits about right to be level with the front. I ditched the timbrens which restored a lot of lost uptravel. It would be a great set up for a truck with a midtravel front.

That said, I can't wait to go spring under axle, put in a bed cage, and throw some bypasses on so the rear end can perform equally with the front.

    I know!!!!!!

But right now the priorities are building a new front bumper, rebuilding my grill, and getting a cage.

Going to use rectangular tubing to make a frame to mount everything to. I need to replace the headlight housings (scratched and mounting tabs broken/breaking). I'm going to reinforce the new tabs before mounting them.

Tomorrow I'm going to call up the dealership and see what a set of headlights and a grill from a '12 would cost, just out of curiosity. Not really sure if I like the '12 grill but I think it would be cool to keep the truck looking new that way.

Thanks for the info. Do you have the timbren bumps in the front?

What have you done for gusseting?

Nope, I'm running stock bumps up front. Pulls more travel that way, and I rarely, rarely bottom the front end.

Spindles and motor mounts are gusseted. Working on the UCA and coil bucket. Spindles are the must have, everything is else is dependent on how hard you push the truck.

Took my All Pro bumper (and winch) off the truck so I could plan out my tube bumper that I plan on building soon.

Discovered that the driver side frame mount was broken off on the outer most side. The pictures speak for themselves.

Welded the broken piece back on and grinded the surface smooth. Tomorrow I'm going to go down to Lowes and pick up some 1/4'' plate steel and make a new face for the frame mount (welded to the old, to increase the thickness and strength) and gusset the backside of the mounts.

Granted, I haul ass. Blitz whoops, jump the truck, etc, so I wouldn't call this typical of plate bumpers; but I wouldn't doubt if others with heavy bumpers have the same damage.

    The damage:

    Repaired:

Making sure it won't happen again:

1/4'' steel brace plate welded on all four sides to the stock mounting plate.

Both sides on, welded, and painted

2 meter radio is wired up and mounted. Not sure where I want to hang the mic, might just leave it unplugged.

How do you like that tire size? I'm looking at 305/65-17 and also 295/70-17 for my next tire.
