Ok I'm going to start a little "build thread". This is my first Tacoma, and I really want to keep track of all the things I do with this truck. Mostly for myself, but I know keeping records of the truck is important to resale value also.

This thing will likely go dormant for two weeks at a time since I work 2 weeks on and 1 week off.

This is my truck the day I brought it home. Pretty clean and mechanically sound although it's at that time for some PM work. Here is the first picture I took after I removed the ugly stick on window covers over the vent Windows

While messing with the vent Windows I noticed the little Pivots were broken, so I ordered new ones. Found them on Amazon and then noticed billet aluminum ones that were only 2 more than plastic, figured why not.

Here is the new pivot next to the factory broken one.

And installed. Installation was straight forward, but the rolls pins fit very tight in the new pivots. Nothing a bigger hammer couldn't manage, not really I just used channel locks and squeezed the roll pins home no problem.

Unfortunately this is all I'm going to get done as I have to be back at work tomorrow, so all I can do is order parts for the next 2 weeks.

Already here are some LED's for backup lights and ditch lights. I'll have more lights, switches, radio etc. here next time I'm home along with a new blower motor for the AC. Also planning on dropping the truck off for timing belt and water pump along with swapping all the other fluids and a general tune up while its in the shop.

Well I'm back from my hitch at work and that means time to do some work on the truck.

While I was away at work I ordered a bunch of stuff, mostly lights switches, light mounts etc.

Also my dad who is retired was nice enough to drop the truck off and pick it up for me to have the timing belt / water pump and a general overlook by a mechanic.

For whatever reason I'm not able to copy and paste IMG codes from Photobucket properly so I'll have to update those later

Nice rig, I've also got those billet side window levers. Looking forward to seeing where you take this build. Did you throw away those "ugly stick on window covers"? I've been looking to pick some of those up.

Discovered I have the dreaded diff locker light blinking so I'll have to track that issue down also.

Are you 4WD? The locker can only be turned on in 4lo.

Did you try going in reverse really slow? When I first got my truck, it was always a bitch and a half to turn on because the previous owner didn't know how to use it. Now it turns on 99% of the time, i just have to take my time and creep forward and backwards for a minute. Just engage it and use it as much as you can, and it'll eventually get better.

I'll give that a shot and see what happens.

On another note I remember why I dislike wiring. What a pain in the ass! Got my wires ran for the light bar and ditch lights. Light bar is mounted and one ditch light is done. That's all for now my wife is coaching tonight and I'll be hunting again first thing in the AM

While hunting yesterday I played with the locker some more while going really slow and the light stayed illuminated while doing so, I will assume it was working properly. Will likely do the grey wire mod as well now.
