Makes sense. They look great, I should have just bit the Bullet and jumped on the black Friday sale too.

I was already wanting them and the Black Friday sale pushed me over the edge to purchase them. Quality piece with good welds to boot. The notching was also pretty decent as well. I'm certainly happy with them

Me not being or having a welder was kind of the breaking factor. Would probably need to pay a fab guy $150 or more to install and build them for me. need to go this route eventually but not enough Duckets right now, will probably wait for there next sale and purchase 4x's though since seeing them on your rig.

Well I've been slacking with updating this, lift is still sitting in the garage, just haven't made time to put it on with the holidays and such.

My DS door seal was torn up thanks to the PO using a coat hanger and such to open the door. Got that replaced and what a difference it makes on driving it down the road. Other than that I feel pretty good about the truck at its current state. I really just need to install the things I have laying around for it, unfortunately they're the more labor intensive parts and my motivation has been low.

    To be continued....

Well I've been slacking, but started the lift install today. Got the front end buttoned up a few minutes ago. Getting the ball joints out sucked ass. If you rent a ball joint press from Oreileys you'll also need their 4wd adapter and I used a cut down 7/8" deep socket on the other side. Had I not done UCA's I think I would have been done in under an hour no problem! I'll try and knock out the rear tomorrow and then can take some pictures.

Got the Dakars put on the back with the toytec boss shocks. Rear wasn't too bad of an install, although a second hand sure would have made it significantly easier and faster. This was also my first time doing leafs, so no reason to be intimidated.

The PS spring does rub the tail pipe though, so I'll have the shop fix it tomorrow when i take it to get it aligned (same establishment). I'll post some pictures after that, definitely need a black wheel with more BS now though.

yes installed everything myself. My dad came over and helped on the front, I did the rear alone in my garage. Had I not done UCA's the front would have been stupid easy, but the ball joints were a bit of a pain to remove

Installed this streetlight strion charger during hunting season also. Buddy shot a deer and neither of us had a decent flashlight, won't make that mistake again.

Just JB welded the charger to the side of the console and tucked the wire up under and plugged into 12v outlet. May hard wire it later on, but no real need as of now.

Got it, I have icon suspension and UCA and All-pro leafs sitting in the garage, worried the install may be to hard alone since ive never done it. But im considering it! tired of waiting for help lol

I had never done this specific install either, but it wasn't too bad. If you have an impact and an air ratchet, a good floor jack and stands (mine are harbor freight) and some general mechanical knowledge you should have no problem doing it. I used the oreilys BJ press w/ their 4wd adapter, there was nothing to put on the stud end of the BJ in the kit that would work, so I held a 7/8 deep socket up to it and marked it the length of the stuff and cut the open end off and this helped center the pushing tool over the BJ

What is the major advantage to the aftermarket uca's? I've been searching the site (what led me to this thread) trying to find this info and best I have discovered is gaining about an inch of down travel.

I read that some people had alignment issues with factory UCA's not being able to get a proper suspension geometry and alignment. I probably should have cheaped out and used the factory control arms, but my personality has always been the do it right the first time type.
