Thanks fellas! It was a little sketchy with it being our first time in the mud and second time at Cleghorn. We actually had to hook up a tow strap from my truck to my buddies newer tacoma (his first time at Cleghorn) to pull him out of a rut.

    This:

    @quetzal - You remember this 4runner right?

Some Jeep guys we ran into at the beginning of the trail came across us and stopped to lend a hand:

Any body damage? If that was my 14 year old Tacoma laying on its side I could care less about body damage, but for some reason seeing that $35k truck on its side makes me cringe. Tell him to invest in some armor

Yeah, I would have too. Luckily we got out of it with no one getting hurt. Our friend just had to clean his wheel and tire, then get it re-mounted.

One of the Jeep guys showed us pics of his previous Jeep on its roof. He's the one with the new white Rubicon in the pics. Not even 24hrs old and he's already out there...haha!

He scratched up the lower part of his fender flare pretty good. Not much else.

Crazy thing is, he purchased armor shortly after he got the truck. Front and rear plate bumpers, rock sliders and skids. Only the rear bumper was installed before this impromptu trip. The sliders would've been installed as well, but he only received one (shipping issues).

We kept saying how much easier it would've been to jack his truck up using the sliders or front bumper.

Thanks man! Still have quite a few "mods" left on my list. Every time I cross one off, I add two more.

Same over here... One mod needs another mod...

Like i just put plate bumpers on and now i see the tires a lot more.. Now I want rims to get the tires to stick out more... Actually im looking at getting the exact rims you have haha.

Also, are you running any aftermarket UCA's?

All good man! I think these SCS wheels look great on our 1st gens. Are you trying to buy the same color too? Cause they've been discontinued, but SCS offers a dark matte bronze.

    I'm running Camburg UCA's.

I need to figure out what I want to do with my in bed spare tire carrier. I'm trying to keep the bed sides and tailgate area open while carrying the spare in the bed. I have a few ideas so we'll see how that goes. Then onto the bumpers and skids.

Im looking into the matte black or gunmetal color. I also just put on my lift and now i need some UCA's to get a lot of caster back...

What bumper are you looking at getting? You could always get a rear tire swing out bumper! :D

I was all about Elite back then but wasn't ready to purchase. So I waited. Now, coincidentally, I'm looking at Relentless. I'd want a single hoop up front, but sort of low profile. Then their wrap around rear plate bumper as well.

I thought of a swing out tire carrier but I've had to use my bed extender quite a few times already. With a swing out I wouldn't be able to use it anymore. Also keeping the bedsides clear for my bike mounts.

I'm leaning towards a custom in bed carrier that can lay horizontal, then can flip up on hinges and stand vertical with the rear of the cab. Something like this:

This way when I don't need the bed space, I still have unobstructed rear visibility.

Might even mount it on these, but not sure if it would be worth it:

Nice, yeah that looks like it would be a great solution!

Ill probably take off my relentless wrap around sooner or later and build my own rear bumper with a swing out. Not to proud of how it turned out because it was a DIY. I should have welded it myself... Ohwell lessons learned. I mean the bumper will definitely do its job and protect everything but its just a little to bulky for me and the wrap around droops around a little to much for me.

My end goal is to build this bumper, not sure how it will turn out but its worth a shot.

That looks great man! Will you be purchasing a topper too? If I didn't use my bed extender as much, I would consider that. I just really dig the look with the topper...sadly, I have no use for one and it'll make our truck even longer (parking at work would be even tougher)...haha.

Trolling on your thread bro. What leaf pack and shocks are you running in the rear?

No worries man! Bilstein and add-a-leaf, forgot the brand, but I'd like to upgrade to a leaf pack soon. It's whatever the Toytec Ultimate lift kit offers.

    Thanks Davey,
I'm doing my research on my lift atm. I've sourced (x'ing fingers) a Deaver leaf pack, now need to address the shocks. I'm still on the hunt for coilovers as well.

Ha no I don't plan on getting a topper. I throw to many things into the bed and I really don't have a need for a topper. It does make that truck look great though!

Thanks man! Second gens are nice too!!!

Noticed you found some King coilovers. Your truck is looking good.

I agree. I jump in and out of the bed so much that a topper would be useless for me as well. They do look clean though.
