My 06 build

Finally got the twinsticks in....about 2 or 3 months ago. Still need clean up the interior as i am finally confident with how everything is working.

 

everything looks good in these pics. Until i attempted the reinstallation of the auto shifter. Of course it wasnt gonna be that easy.

 

Apparently the sticks come up just under the left front of the auto shift.
i must have missed the print......
I did attempt to curve the sticks out and up the side following a thread on rocksolidtoys.com. This did not pan out as i am not skilled enough with my welder to tack, cut, weld, cut and tack again all while hunched over inside my my truck.

 

so after about 3 hours of pissing around and wasting numerous feet of round bar stock, i gave up on that idea. I cut what needed to be cut on the auto shifter tower and settled with the sticks coming out up front.

 

if you look close enough at the last pic youll be able to see my hack (temporary) ADD shift light. Its a 12v incandescent bulb tied into the dpdt switch i used to delete the touchy dial-a-4x4 switch.

 

it currently still sits the same as in the pics. I have been so busy with everything else in my (what seems to be) non stop life that my poor tacoma is last on my list.
It actually pains me because something that used to come first in my everyday life is now last. Its almost a burden when compared to whats important.
Either way ive had it out and about on some rough trails and i could swear the chain driven FJ tcase transfers power so much better. Being able to shift into the low gear, whether in 2wd or 4wd feels so incredible. Being able to watch the transfer of torque as the sticks tremble is unbelievable.

Once i can clean everything up, its off with the bed and tube doors. Pretty sure ATO has a kit for the tube doors but i might take on that challenge myself.

 

Shit forgot the front suspension build.

 

ok so ive got the shock bucket reinforcement tabs and the secondary shock hoop. Still dont have the secondary shock installed. Everything works so well now im not sure ill need it but its ready to go when i change out my shocks.

Few months behind on the build thread as usual. Cleaned up the sticks abit.

 

Bought a new Daily driver.
