Hey everyone my 06 Tacoma has Factory Foglights but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get them to work..?There is no switch for them to power them on and they will not power on.I have checked all the small fuses in the fusebox under the dash and none were blown.Any of you have any Ideas why these wont work?Surely these trucks didnt come with "Dummy" foglights?I would like to get these to working im sure they help out alot in the rain.Any ideas would be much appreciated!

You have no fog light pushbutton mounted in the dash to the left of the steering wheel?

Did you buy this truck used?

I would look for any aftermarket looking wiring going to the fog lights. Perhaps someone added them later, and either didn't finish the job, or used aftermarket wiring and switch. They may have pulled the switch out before selling the truck.

If you search around on here, you could probably find a picture of what the connector looks like behind the dash.

Actually, I've seen some people that put Fogs just for looks... so, check if they are connected...

Then, as Joes06tacoma said, they may have pulled the switch out...

There MUST be a switch for them!

Make sure they're factory and use OEM harnesses under the bumper. Then we'll work from there

Thanks for the replies everyone I will explain where im at with them.I bought the truck used yes and the truck has the factory Foglights bolted in and theres also an aftermarket set of aftermarket Foglights on the front Pushbar that were wired in seperately which I plan on removing. There is no factory switch in the dash for the factory foglights and when I flip the switch for the Aftermarket Foglights on the pushbar only the Aftermarkets light up.I want to get my factory fogs working and jerk the aftermarkets off completely.

Ok guys heres the scoop. The factory Wiring is going to the Factory Foglights. There is no Foglight Relay in the Fusebox under the hood BUT I bought a new Relay and plugged it in the fusebox under the hood and Still no Foglights! The truck has no Foglight switch but I figured the factory Foglights would just come on with the Lowbeam headlights and go off with the highbeams. They wont power on any way anyhow.Im out of ideas as to why they wont work..

Pics would be helpful. Where is the switch for the aftermarket lights?

Your going to need a 12 volt tester, the basic kind that has a point like an ice pick on one end and a 16 gauge wire attached with an alligator clip on the other end, going to make things a lot easier for you.

Yes you can use the alligator clip to celebrate when your done

Well, you had an owner that obviously did some of their own wiring. I would check to see if you have the plug for an OEM switch behind the dash, then start poking around with a test light or jumper wire to make sure it's active (if you jump the factory harness in the dash, it should light up the fogs when the low beams are on).

Also, are you sure the guy didn't rob the wiring from the factory fogs to power and control his aftermarket ones?

He didnt rob the power from the factory Fogs because theres all new wiring ran from the inside of the truck out to the battery and down to the aftermarket foglights that are completely worthless..

I guess I will just have to start looking for the plugs behind the dash and start prrobing with a test light..

Should be the plug behind the blank at the upper left hand side to the left of the steering wheel.

if there is new wiring, wouldn't it just be super easy to put a switch on that wiring and you should be good to go?

This sounds really fishy. Maybe the previous owner started parting it out before selling, starting with the fog switch and wiring
