    Update:
I got an estimate from the insurance co and it came out to $815.00.

Judging by these pictures...do you guys think I should take it in and get the work done or use the $815 towards something else like some billy's/TRD exhaust?

There was no actually paint damage...the paint from the other guy's car just came off with my finger. I can just run it over with my porter cable and polish and it'll be good as new...

I am a bit worried about the damage underneath...IF there is any..

if you are worried thent ake it to the dealer to have a safety inspection done. also if the hit was hard enough which i doubt anyways by looking at the pics check to see if the bed pushed into the cab.

Good idea..hopefully it wont cost much or nothing at all (wishful thinking)for them to do the safety inspection! I dont think he hit me that hard to push the bed into the cab, if it did, wouldn't it be noticeable right away? Sorry I am a noob and love to ask many questions. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and advice!! :)

This is true! I've had the entire weight of the truck on it when I backed into a ditch offroading once. It didn't do anything! :D

sometimes it wouldnt be noticeable i guess if you dont know what to look for or to know if its even possible for the bed to be pushed into the cab.

one can never ask too many questions me thinks

I had a similar rear-end last October (year ago) after only owning the truck for 6 months. The car was nasty. My hitch receiver put a nice dent in their grill along with the dented up hood.

My truck - probably a little worse than yours... My bumper actually got pushed into my bedside a bit. Enough to screw up the paint. I had my entire bumper replaced, bumper covers, bumper bracket, and had the bed repaired/painted and the entire bedside recoated with clearcoat and new TRD sticker applied on the one side. My repairs came to about $1500.

You're worried about resale value? Then get the truck fixed!

If you leave it unfixed - that'll depreciate the value.

I had a similar incident but I backed into a Camry. Destroyed their rear tail light and put a pretty good sized dent in their bumper. Only a few scratches in my bumper. These are tough trucks.

SOunds like you just got 815 bucks for Christmas shopping. There is nothing wrong with it, but if your worried, yes do a safety inspection. It can't be any worse then some of the cars I seen around with duct tape holding thier bumper on, c'mon man.

I hate damage too. If it's noticable, then I would def have it fixed. If you can live with the way it looks, then use the money for something else. My front bumper got hit on Thanksgiving and I just got paid from the guy's insurance company. I'm looking at aftermarket bumpers now. :D

In my case, they did require a police report. Maybe because I didn't have any witnesses.

I just got hit from the back in my 09 tacoma with 400 miles on it. Looking at the pics I have almost the exact same damage. The car that hit me suffered far more damage. Messed up the hitch and pushed in the bumber a quarter inch. 1900 dollars was the estimate.

ouch...sorry to hear that!! I'll stop bitchin about my accident..guess shit happens and just gotta deal with it.

Anyway...just bought a new hitch cover and screw cap for $40 bucks. That is all the visible exterior damage I can see. I had the car checked and they said there was no visible damage underneath..so thats a good sign.:D Thanks everyone!
