I have used the pens and they work very well at hiding the nicks.

As far as the kid is concerned, get used to it. I have 3 boys, 2 in college and 1 in HS. My oldest just backed into my Honda Pilot about a month ago when backing out of the drive way. He said it was my fault for parking it where I did. He can't talk anymore...;)

My 2nd son (18) has gotten into 3 fender benders the 1st year he got his license. He can't walk anymore...:D

Just when I think I may want some! I told my 12 yr old nephew the other night "Don't do anything stupid"

    His response "Why not?"

    I both laughed and cried!

Nice post Dave and on the spot.

To the OP Why was the golf club available for the 2YO to pick up and use? At 2 years you are asking a lot for him to understand that hitting a car is something you should not do.

I gave him the club to play with (keep him distracted) while I was working in the garage.

I forgot to tell you the best part of the story. A few days later a buddy and I were investigating the damage and my son popped out of nowhere in the middle of us and poked the truck with a screwdriver. he probably thought he was fixing it...

he's like a little ninja, but without any honor.

personally, i think a 2-year old is incapable of carrying a "real" golf club down the whole side of the truck

You gave the kid a golf club to play with in a confined space where you keep your truck?? I hate to say it, but you kinda set yourself up for that one... Especially the second time with the screwdriver! You need to keep that kid on a leash!!

OP, seriously, where r the pics? And what was your 2-yr old doing with a screwdriver, let alone a golf club. Personally, I think you had it coming. Sorry, but you give a 2-yr old an adult tool or piece of sports equipment, you get what you deserve. It's a good thing he didn't come up behind you and stab you in the ass.

As for the minor damage, get used to it... it's a truck. I kind of like it when my trucks have battle scars.

Kids have to be old enough to understand what they did was wrong before "ass whoopins" are really worthwhile, not sure a two yr old has that kind of thought proscess yet.

Yep. 2 years olds aren't going to grasp the right and wrong of it. I'm sure the kid thought he was "helping" daddy. I have four kids (17, 13, 11, and 4). Like my other kids, my 4 year old has play tools. Little plastic screwdriver, hammer, etc. I let them use those on anything. They just copy me and no damage done... although my 4 year old did jab me in my eye with the plastic wrench once. That hurt a bit.
