I keep expecting it to fail, but it just keeps passing. And I'm in Cal.
225K miles, all original equipment, and nothing but routine maintenance done.
    I love this thing.

The hidden meaning behind this thread is; 1st genners can post something on a Friday that isn't a complete dumpster fire.

If it gets slow at work, I'll definitely check out the 3rd gen section :stirthepot:

Mine just passed smog too :bananadance:

And I'm anything but stock/original lol. New cats, new o2 sensors, supercharger/headers, snorkel etc

I make sure to go to the same smog shop/guy each time so he remembers me, don't have to risk getting any grief from a new place if I don't have to.

I passed my smog test earlier this year after having the engine blocked swapped & installed and a new mass air flow sensor installed by the same mechanic. I'm in California as well. I have a stock engine configuration compared to some of you. The folks with superchargers have to make sure that they have their OEM CARB sticker for the smog check or else you'll fail immediately because of that. I should be exempt for 2020 too since smog is every 2 years in our state.

My '86 turbo 4Runner had a bad distributor, and it died in the middle of the test. Still passed SMOG.

Meh, the only time it's a PITA to pass smog is if you don't have the right stickers under the hood or some other clerical BS.

Toyotas never have a problem passing the emissions side of the test. I'm never worried about the emissions. I see some pretty beat up POS domestics rolling out of SMOG stations with certificates...

I forgot to mention I also have the URD 7th injector installed which is most definitely 100% not legal in CA lol. But the tech doesn't notice it, I wrapped the extra fuel line in the engine bay in black electric tape so it just looks like any other vacuum line in there when it's dirty. And the piggyback controller for it is hidden up inside/behind the glove box.

That's usually what has me sweating during inspection

What the tech can't see, or doesn't notice, can't hurt you. :D actually a wise idea to disguise it in the engine bay

The shittiest part about the CA smog rules is that you obviously pass the emissions side. That SHOULD be the important part. But no, if you don't have a certain sticker, or have some aftermarket part that the manufacturer didn't pay a bunch of money to have "certified", then you fail.

yeah don't get me started on the CARB crap lol. Just a money grab, has little to do with emissions and everything to do with money

Most of the wildfires have been on fed land.

For those of us, that don't live in the state of Kommiefornia, what the hell is a OEM CARB sticker.

My Tacoma has a Smog inspection this coming February and I've got a Supercharger , header and CAI

Luckily all of these parts all have a Carb EO# decal on the firewall

The shittiest part of CS smog is that if your don't have correct sticker you will fail, but if your brakes don't do a thing, suspension is falling apart and headlights are searching for squirrels on the tree tops you are perfectly fine. :jerkoff:

Mine passed smog too. I just put the sticker on my license plate today.
The smog tech. was kind of a dufus though. When he had my truck on the dyno running the test, he almost drove it off the dyno. He said it "almost feels like its in 4 wheel drive". The ding dong didn't put the wheel chocks in front of the tires so my truck was climbing over the rollers. I was so scared that it was going to go through the wall or catch on the edge where the rollers come through the floor and break something, namely my truck!
Definitely not taking any of my vehicles back there again...
