And now I may have to look for a replacement. There's a "70% of private party value" law in Nevada where the insurance company totals the vehicle and I think I am close.

This Tacoma was (is) a great truck. I left it stock almost..Came with a heavier front bumper and brush guards. The Manual 5 speed transmission was solid. 143K and had a clutch replacement at 130K. Rancho shocks and I was just getting ready to replace those with 4600 Bilsteins. I really appreciated the narrow body width. Seems the later model Tacomas are wider.

I towed my Skeeter ZX 225 with it and took it camping, living out of the Snug-Top canopy for weeks at a time. Most of my miles are on pavement, but it's Nevada so there is some off roading. I don't go looking for trouble unless there is some really desirable climbing destination at the end of the road. In winter I might drive up to Brianhead once or twice for a bit of back country skiing. Otherwise the Tacoma hangs out in mild and hot temperatures.

Any suggestions for possible later year Tacoma's would be welcome. And I'll do the research as well.

Being located in Las Vegas I am kind of resigned to owning an automatic if I do have to purchase another Toyota. I looked a long time before finding this 2004 which came out of Reno. I count myself fortunate to have a local Toyota mechanic I've been with for over 14 years; I'll get him to look over anything I am thinking about buying.

    Thanks in advance.
