My 2006 DCLB was stolen from in front of my house ...

He mentioned an MT, the last MT (manual trans) in a 4runner was in 2000.

 

My .02: Do not take the insurance company’s first offer. They’re going to lowball you several thousand $.

I helped someone recently that had a totaled DCSB 2012 prerunner go from a $17k insurance offer to $22k.

 

I don’t know if it’s changed but I recall someone I worked with having to fill out some paperwork to bring a vehicle into Mexico. I think it was to curb the stolen vehicles ending up there.

SoCal has always had a vehicle theft problem. They’re often after a particular part. Or want to use it in a crime. Sometimes they steal it and immediately park it somewhere in case it has a tracking device. The police might find it but leave it there staking it out hoping they come back for it.

At work, someone came flying in the parking lot then took off running. We called the police and they said it was just reported stolen.

Sorry for your loss. Hopefully it’ll get recovered only missing the cats.
