2wd? If it were a quad cab 4x4 I'd buy it from you.

Since it's not, I'd probably just non-op it and then sell it. That way you don't have to worry about smog/dmv back fees.

He might have a better handle on who can install a motor reasonably and get another opinion on if it really needs another motor. Maybe a new radiator, too

This may be a dumb question. But how long has your truck been burning oil at the rate of 1 quart for 40 miles?

That's an Incredibly high consumption rate. Just wondering if something else is going on?

I’m telling ya... find another motor. You can do this; if I did it you can do it

Post pictures of your truck and the mileage and all the specs. Me or someone else might buy it off you. I have no problems doing an engine swap

My guess is you are not cash-plenty right now. If that's the case; looking at everything else you've said, it's junk yard time. A lot have said get a Junk Yard engine, but even that costs money, even going the DIY route.
The answer is in what you can afford to do other than junk it?

Yeah I just called around here in Sacramento, nobody has an engine and they usually go for 2k.

There’s a nice oil smoke stain on the rear quarter panel.

Well, what do you want to get out of it? I might be interested if it’s at the right price.
