if I was you, I would keep checking your local craiglist for parts being posted. I've heard of people being caught this way.

Key word here........towed. most likely the thief towed it away, or it was someone you know playing a fucked up trick on you. You did make all your payments on time right? Just a thought. Also, like some people have mentioned, when you get a stolen vehicle back it never, ever feels the same. Tainted, if you will.

theres alotta downer in here and gawd knows they may be right.... but... just in case, lemme tell ya a little story if i may. back in '03, things were just not goin my way and then someone stole my (can i say silverado in here?) truck as i was spendin most of the last cash i had on lunch for a sad pal. when i came out, my trusty white whale was gone. i looked all over the area, even the places it coulda been quickly stashed. since it was older and times were tough to say the least, all i had was liability on it and bein in the phoenix area, i too figured it was long fockin gone and didnt even bother reporting it.

about 2 weeks later i get a call from the pd askin if i had my truck stolen. ill be damned if they didnt find it 1 block past where i stopped my search. while tryin to snag yet another in dash stereo that replaced the last 2, they hit my under dash kill switch and pulled it over, abandoning it for some other spineless ditch turd to take over. the dash was trashed as was the steering collum and some other shit, but it came back from hell none the less.

theres hope. not damn much but there it is none the less. in the end its just stuff and stuff isnt worth dick when stacked next to friends and family. good luck man.

I had a motorcycle stolen once. After about a week, a PD from across the bay called and said they'd caught the guy and got the bike back.

Ecstatic, I went and picked it up. Brake rotors were blue. It was missing parts and had a bit of cosmetic damage. I was glad to have it back.

But the thing is, I knew it had been beat and at that point, I never really felt good about it. I sold it after it was repaired.

The whole f-wad thieves thing pisses me off to no end. I'm sorry it's happened to you.

Sir I'm so Sorry to hear this man. . .

I never thought about my truck ever to be Stolen but this raised an alarm to me.

I would be crushed if I lost my baby. . .

I wish you the best in finding it, but if you're like me. I wouldn't want it back. I don't like the feeling someone whored my stuff.

I hope you come back stronger and your insurance takes care of it.

OK, my 82 was stolen once and someone DID just use it and leave it an apartment parking lot. I DID get it back a month later pretty much unscathed. I called police department every day asking if they'd found it yet for about 3 weeks and just when I was starting to make peace with the idea that I'd never see it again they called me up and said they found it. The apt mgr had called them after it sat around for 3 weeks. Hoping OP will have same luck.

bullshit...I had a friend get a car repoed few years back while he was at work...came out and it was gone, he thought someone stole it. Called cops and filed a report and everything...he finally called finance place and they confirmed it was repoed. Repo guy isnt gonna go looking for owner or the vehicle...all he wants is the car/truck.

Not saying you dont pay your shit on time, hell your truck could be paid off. SUCKS either way.

Chances are it was a tow truck theft. You need one of those anti theft things that phones back it's location. You can track it on the web until of course they find and disable it.
