i purchased a used turbo system off a fellow xr owner on the fb page for xrowners. everything is installed as of today after buying tons of extra things and replacing and adding lots of stuff to. build sheet is as follows before i get into my questions/concerns -
    Turbonetics 68mm t4 housing
custom and very nice fit and finish headers, crossover pipe, up pipe, down pipe, and wastegate dump tube
    Tial wastegate and bov
custom intercooler piping brand new and large bar and plate fmic
    Injector Dynamics 1000cc
AEM series 2 emc Dezod plug and play
New AEM 3.5 bar map sensor, wideband uego, and iat sensors.
    New Denso IHK24's

I will attach pictures of the build from my phone later

My partner and me at Ace Body Shop and Performance LLC, in Manchester IOWA did the best we could installing and updating this systems and the fit and finish looks great. added a few one way check valves to the system we were sure would need them. plumbing vacuum is my main concern tho as after i hooked up the aem tru boost gauge and started it it would not stay running and stayed on vacuum on the gauge, i was wondering if anyone has pics or write ups and threads they could tag me in to sort this out. the vac lines that connect to the intake and if all remain hooked up, which ones get one way check valves. and also where to draw vacuum from for all the turbo components like external wastegate upper and lower connections, turbocharger, bov, aem truboost gauge, and the aem map sensor. whatever else im forgetting its late and been at this install late hours for a week straight (aem boost control solenoid is hooked up to correct part to the drawing included with it) as something def isnt right! i searched the threads for other posts and or pics for over an hour finding no info for this 2nd gen 4.0 tho im sure theres tons of threads and posts about turbo installs on the 1grfe. thanks in advance for any and all help sorting this out!!

Good morning to you Smitty. Have you started a build thread or anything on here?

If not, this is the next best link to post into.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/turbo-bs-thread.481844/page-551#post-21100240

As for the check valves, I only have one. On the hose going to the brake booster. Blocking the direction that the boost would enter it.

I also have a vacuum block on the driver side of the engine compartment. The port directly behind the throttle body feeds it. Then the out going lines feed the fuel pressure regulator, MAP sensor (integrated to the Haltech in the cab) and BOV.

The wastegate is plumbed off of the compressor housing. If your compressor cover does not have that fitting, then tapping into the hose right after the TB, is the next best source. You could also tap there the Y-split to feed both the WG and BOV.

The downward facing port on the intakemanifold, which used to attach to the valve cover, is removed from the valve cover. Then attached to the evap solenoid on the driver side. Creating a loop.

The driver side valve cover and passenger side valve cover are not attached at all to the intake or any portion of the intake. As that will pressurize the crank case. Both of those ports are routed into a catch can, with a breather outlet. You do not want to pressurize the crank case, as it will cause all sorts of leaks and problems.

You by no means have to route your hoses like I did mine. Just make sure not to have any vacuum hoses attached to the PCV system, nor to the vacuum on the top of the intake. Those are specifically for the ACIS operation.

off a guy on fb name Ryan Maharaj. he bought it off another guy and so on. he forwarded me an email from a couple guys and dezod motorsports and has an attached cal file but just had it running and it is a startup cal file not a tuned file like i was told it was tuned to 12psi, it barely idled until i made a couple changes. i will start attaching all of the pics i have for you to review everything i know. it would be nice to have somewhat of a tune to go off of.

These tables are horrible and seems this is only a start up cal and not a tuned to 12psi cal like I was sold on

Talked to guy on phone who had everything. Said paid someone to tune it, doesnt think has a copy of the cal file. And tuner was in Virginia beach doesnt rememeber name was 5 years ago. So guess I need to start from scratch probably made some fuel and timing changes so it would idle smooth and called it a day been at it late nights for a week straight getting everything installed right. Anyone have similar dezod setup by chance with an aem cal file? Or reccomend a good remote tuner to get me going. We're far too busy with insurance work on the body shop side of business for me to get this tuned myself anytime soon

That is SikX's original kit. He originally had that EMS tuned on my 550ccm injectors from RC Engineering. Seems the new owner upgraded.

Never tuned an AEM. Sound like you need to setup timing with crank sensor and home sensor(passenger side intake cam sensor. )

I upgraded it a tad more. Double ceramic coated all of the hotside parts and added a turbo blanket. Extended the Wastegate dump tube. Brand new tial bov. New custom intercooler piping. Few more odds and ends. Spent a little too much already but guess I'm getting a remote tune too unless the last owner can get his cal file from tuner. You've done a great job so far.

Have you entered the injector dead times into the AEM? From Injector Dynamics' website?

So homing timing sensor should be in the menu somewhere? N dead times. Like the size and flow? I was in a menu that I tried factory injector and new injector info but it kept giving me an error. Maybe bc crank timing whether your talking about isn't set yet

There should be a table to set size and flow of injectors. Regardless of timing.

May have to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the layout of their system.

There was a wizard I tried that in but kept giving me an error. I will look at first thing in morning and post pic and look into crank position timing

36 minus 2, for the crank, or something like that. I'd have to look when I get home, unless someone else has that on hand?
