K&N CAI, Borla catback, weathertech deflectors, Westin steps, LEDs, heated mirrors, illuminated 4x4 switch, instant on reverse cam, always on amber fogs, homelink, Redline quicklift elite hood struts, oem sport rack, oem bed extender
I’ve been lurking on this site since I bought my taco last June and have used so much info already. I traded a 2001 Mercedes E430 4Matic for a super white DCLB TRD sport with only 38k on it from South Dakota, in immaculate condition. First owner put a k&n cai on it and had it lifted. I put Westin steps, weathertech deflectors, the oem sport rack and bed mat, and homelink on it the first month. Added an adjustable hitch and borla catback a bit later. Recently did the reverse cam always on switch, illuminated 4x4 switch, oem style heated mirrors, fog lights anytime mod, and swapped out all the bulbs to LEDs, including 6000k headlights and amber fogs. Just detailed the entire interior and exterior, and plan on doing the engine compartment this weekend. Gonna install the redline quiclklift hood struts and bed extender after. Modding my taco is addicting. Rust isn’t a problem in Colorado, but planning on rust protecting the frame this summer anyway so I can take this road tripping anywhere without worrying about it.4DB23BE3-99AC-4C5E-99BF-69046E882866.jpg15B3D1BE-90F7-4722-9110-64C59980D79E.jpg

So its now been 27 months since getting this rig. In addition to the mods done above, I was able to get the frame rust protected this summer. It took a bit longer than I had initially thought it would take, but I wanted to do it right. I used POR-15 and brushed it on after sand blasting the affected parts, which was minimal. Ended up doing the entire frame, rear axle, transaxle, leaf springs, and rear drums. Even did the spare tire. 2-3 coats total, with two coats of topcoat on the outside parts of the frame

Also installed a new rear bumper, oem bumper step, bed rug, led bed lights wired to an spdt switch that i mounted on the center console so i can turn the on, off, and set to turn on with a pin switch when the tailgate is open. I installed the pop n lock pl8521 wired to unlock with the passenger doors, with the mounting bracket and emergency release cord. I ran the wire through the existing Loom for the backup camera and mounted the plug right above the existing plug.

Since i ran wires for the lights, i went ahead and ran wires tapped into the driver's side door locks in anticipation of getting a camper shell with a power lock sometime in the future, as well as two extra wires to power additional accessories in the bed, along with another ground. All of my wiring is bound in looms, wrapped in F4 rescue tape, following existing wiring, and running into the cab through the grommets under the front seats. All of my taps are with positaps.

For the interior, i snagged the sun visors from a 2015 that have the vanity lights, including the female connectors that go into the headliner, swapped out the head unit to a kenwood dnx996xr with built in navigation and wireless carplay, the kenwood drv n520 integrated dash cam, and marstro rr, and got the oem bluetooth steering wheel controls, so i now have 16 functions on my steering wheel, and have all the engine info and tire pressure. Not all the maestro functions work on the second gens.

Also swapped out my instrument cluster leds to cool white, and installed the 4runner mirrors, so now i have the turn signals and puddlelights, improving on the heated mirrors i did last year. Just redid my headlights and aimed them, and installed new bosch icon wipers.

Gonna get it professionally detailed on the exterior as well as deodorizing the vents, and an alignment.

Answer is probably no, but I’ll ask anyway. Is the transmission temp gauge available on your set up?
