My 2017 Tacoma head unit works but no sound

I have a 2017 Tacoma Sport with the non Jbl Entune unit. Recently there was static coming out the speakers but now there is no sound at all. Anybody else have this problem? I have disconnected and connected every single speaker wiring harness and still can't get it to work. Every now and then the speakers will play music for like 30secs and cut back off. My warranty has worn out and a new head unit is 1200$. I have also tried updating it (no fix)
