This is one of the reasons I miss my '12 OR. 4 doors, six speed and 4x4. Analog as you can get in this decade. I moved to a '16 TP 4Runner and while I love it, it feels too techie as well. I actually miss the manual seats in my Tacoma. Click up until you can pedal the clutch comfortably, DONE. Now in an 8-way adjustable power seat, I can make it comfortable too. But is it the most comfortable? Don't know, let's adjust this or that by a few millimeters. No, that's worse. Crap, now I can't find the old setting. I don't want a paradox of choice, I prefer the manual seats for their simplicity and reliability (how much do those motors cost to replace?).

Same with the head unit. The Entune display is okay, but it already looks dated and I hardly use it anyway- I still use bluetooth music and nav on my phone. The dot matrix analog displays look more timeless to me.

More than anything, I miss shifting. Although the 5 speed is a great trans, I hate the vague feeling of the torque converter slipping. I still bump gears when I'm going down long grades but it's just not the same.

I've been thinking the same about my 2017 TRD Pro MT. Just in terms of timing of these changes, it's become a pretty unique vehicle. In 10 years, find a TSS free Tacoma with leather seats and a manual transmission. it could take some looking

first off, I love my SB. last thing I hauled: a full sheet of plywood and 400 lbs of concrete. (plus groceries).

Also, as I understand, TSS "features" have to be manually turned off every time ya get in the truck. Sounds like a pain in the arse to me.

These are my fourth set counting my previous vehicles. I really like them. Perfect for lots of highway and moderate off road.

Like I said TSS is not intrusive and if you haven't drove daily in a high density city - you can't judge it. I do drive my stick daily, never ever TSS intruded into my driving, drivers the same as my 05 and 15 tacoma.

This topic reminds me of a Gen 2 Vs TuRD Gen, except now we are having TuRDs vs TuRDs 3.5 (with TSS) fight here.

I'm very happy with my 2017 cement pro. It's not going anywhere for a very very long time.

Simple is better. I may have a slushbox in my 10 but that's about it

No disparagement here. I just wrote how i felt. I drive a vehicle with those features on it and i am fine with it. Right now i just prefer one without it as it says in the post.
Did you even read the post? Did you understand the post? Do you just enjoy being antagonistic?
Sigh... it's not about the usage or the function, it's about the transition from manual vehicles to autonomous vehicles and 2017 is the last befor TSS. Read.

Which 2018 model offers as well exactly as 2017 does.
I drive exactly the same truck as you do, control my gears and forced to pay attention to the road conditions as well as any other 2018 owner.

You might want as well start arguing that AT is a not a manual user driven truck here since you just press two pedals and no control over gears.

To me this thread sounds more like you are trying to justify to yourself that it was a right decision to buy a last year truck. Congrats with a new truck! I hope you enjoy the MT tranny as much as I do, but you didn't buy the last "manual user controlled" one.

I am gonna guess weed is legal where u are. U must b high as hell trying to crush a man’s truthful heartfelt explanation about how he ended up buying his truck. Relax man. If it upsets u so much and just at least make sense in your posts not try and get into a debate. People could give two shits less about TSS if it’s not on their own trucks. Everyone can voice their opinion and he said the TSS wasn’t for him. I agree.

I would tell u to drive off a cliff somewhere but your TSS would probably save u. Lol. JK

I’m leaving tomorrow for Uruguay for a week so if u get mad at my post... Think real hard about how u can justify getting so butt hurt over HiPSI just telling his story. Then we can discuss it then. Have a good one and remember everyone has their own opinions and taste. Remember it’s America!

Great Analysis. Glad you still love your truck.

hiPSI, I thought you had an inferno TRD sport or maybe I am confusing you with someone else.
Haven’t been on TW for a while.

Those are new vehicle take offs off a 2018. They are off a 2014+ 4Runner SR5. The offset is not exactly the same so the wheels are pushed towards the outside by around 3/4 of an inch. I like them. I am getting tired of black and wanted to go a bit retro with this truck.

OK, I get it, your wheels came off a 2018 as above but were available since 2014.. Are they 17's?
