My 2021 Tacoma accelerated on its own?!

Some were deleted because they got out of hand, but there are a few remaining.

 

Yes, just go back to your tuner and have it removed.

This happened to me for the third time yesterday. Once pre-tune and twice since. Not sure what the root cause is but I can confirm .... it's definitely a bit scary.

 

Perhaps these trucks have AI

 

Crazy because this happened to me as well once in my 2022 V6 SR about 2 months ago. Dealer acted like I was nuts. Glad to see I'm not alone.

 

Only time something happened to my 2020 was when I took the floor mats out to clean, and didn't reinstall properly. It could have been a real costly dumb ass mistake if I didn't catch it early.

Pre TSS (2016-2017) only uses a neural network for the automatic air conditioner. If it has TSS then it definitely uses a neural network to recognize objects through the camera as well.

 

maybe the transmission would shift better if ChatGPT controlled it instead of toyota's "AI". or they could go back to a traditional tune without a thousand different variables at any given time.

also, sometimes mine behaves weird when i let my foot off the gas to coast and then quickly stomp on the gas again. sometimes its smooth, sometimes it's clunky or there is a delayed engagement.

 

Just shitty transmission programming. The harsh jerky engine breaking these trucks do combined with this feeling is dangerous.

 

Cruise control? I don’t know lol.

 

My 2021 Sport has a brake pedal that easily fixes such issues.

It's right there next to the gas pedal. You should become familiar with it's operation.

 

Anytime any vehicle accelerated without my input it was always either my new work boots or hiking boots etc. Simply hadn’t re-calibrated my brain to the new size etc and ended up pressing the accelerator inadvertently.

It sticks in my mind because of the Audi lawsuit over unexpected acceleration that ended being exactly that.

You wouldn’t happen to be running a high power output linear amp on a CB, would you? My buddy could get his S10 to accelerate and make fake orders at the Jack in the Box drive through from across the street just by keying that thing up!

This happens to me aswell. But so far only happens when my cruise control is pressed on position but not in use.

hasn’t happen when my crusie control is pressed off position.

the engine rpm goes up without input from the throttle.

Can anyone else confirm similar issue?
