This sucks! Sorry to hear this!

I would have to say they picked your truck over the others possibly because of the aftermarket items you had on it. While the other trucks are probably stockish still.

One problem I have in all this is that these vehicles are like our children. It would be very hard to see them in action and not try to stop them. And if you catch them in the act and use deadly force to stop them, you're in more trouble than the thieves are.
Not getting political here but society has made it more popular to steal than to work.

    You are correct!!
I see my Tacoma as my trusty dog. Always there ready and willing to go with me wherever I go.

So of course someone trying to hurt or take your dog, our natural reaction is to go protect our dog like they protect us.

I’m sure that I would’ve had a few sleepless nights hiding in wait after the first attempt. Did you ever consider a kill switch, or some other deterrent after finding those first shavings?

If they ever find the truck, do keep us posted as to what happened to it. Was it just found locally in tact or did someone strip it for the parts? Good Luck.

Are you majoring in English lit? Hope so because your writing skills are top notch. That aside, I’m sorry this happened to you. You’re right about it hurting more for those of us who are “car people.” I looked out my window to my driveway as soon as I read this.

It sucks to be a victim of crime, but jeeze it’s a freaking utility vehicle. Turn it into insurance and get a brand new one.

I get you, it really is just a car.. but alot comes into play.. the principle, your personal affects being taken with the car, and the inconvenience of having to get a rental while I embark on the journey of finding a new Tacoma if they don’t find mine. Hopefully it’ll all work out smooth, let’s see

I get it. I just don’t get this deep emotional attachment to an automobile; especially to the way it looks. Part of it probably that I’m old enough to have owned 10+ automobiles, all of which left me one way or another in the end.

Ahhhh I see your perspective now. Yeah this is my first car I officially own and chose myself so it’s a pretty big deal, I guess I’ll feel different once I’ve gone through a couple

I see it both ways, yes it's just a mode of transportation/tool but to me it's also a unique circumstance where it's a reflection of my life style (I'm a huge outdoorsman, remote camp hike etc) plus I'm a blue-collar guy who works with his hands so at the end of the day a lot of us are like that I think that's why we get attached to our trucks here since we all choose to invest (mods etc) into our vehicles

I'm sorry for your loss op and he's probably more upset about being targeted and the victim of a theft as most of us would be. If some pos scumbags stole my truck I would be mad as hell, I hope you get justice in one form or another op
