You guys are killing me with all these 2nd gens with 3rd gen wheels!

I have a base 2015 AC, with some new Hankook rubber but now I am really wanting to get into a set of aluminum rims.

I really like the SR5 4runner wheels, but didn't realize how good the Tacoma TRD wheels look. Both 16" & 17" versions.

FWIW, A set of KO2s white letter out will compliment the reg cab every time!

I had these photo shop pics done back when I had an RC but ended up trading into an Access Cab.

I have "steelie's" on my 08', picked up a set the 16' OR wheels last weekend. I will be mounting the tires myself (I have access to a tire mounting machine and balancer), can you describe how to "flip" the TPMS?

    Thanks

Just turn them 180 so the stick up instead of flush against the rim. A little risky but it will work. Might risk breaking one but better then having to buy 4 new sensors. What part of Cali you from?

From what I've read installing is the easy part.

When it comes time to remove the tire caution needs to be used or the person breaking the bead will snap off or crush the sensor.

Really liking the TRD Pro wheels on mine, I'll put some KO2's on it when these wear out.

    You picked the coolest ones!

Those are the Ivan Stewart wheels Toyota did years ago.
They still sell them too, they resemble a wheel made by Niche back in the day.

Some had issues with clear coating coming off after some years but I think those folks might not have kept them cleaned or protected.

I agree they are sweet looking.

Scored a set of MY17 takeoffs with 9 miles on the rubber for $500. Cost me $50 to swap TPMS. Love the look of the rims with the MGM paint. Not the best pic but I'm pretty pumped.

Got my unused 3rd Gen Sport Wheels and tires mounted up yesterday. Loving the look and improved ride from the Steel Wheels with Wrangler A/T tires.

Hey quick question. When you guys are doing the swap do you need to rebalance or just put'em straight on? Thanks.

straight on.... they should be balanced from the factory

you might have to rebalance if you install new / swap / remove TPMS sensors though

Mine were brand new and just unaired to remove the TPMS sensors, so that's the way I took them to the shop. Fortunately, the witness mark stickers were still affixed and aligned on the rims/tires from the factory balance, so they just mounted 'em up.
