    I know, right?

I joined the first trail run with my local Toyota off-road club just 6 years ago. Half the trucks in that run are no longer in the club, mine included. Highway wreck, theft, frame rust, driver's own abuse...

I believe the one I have will be my last. Had a 2002 for 20 years, 240k miles. Held onto it because it was a great truck, not because I couldn't afford a new one.

Bought the 2017, and in 6 years I've put 42k miles on it. At that rate, I've got at least another 20 years before I even think about cracking 200k miles.

I'm getting older (56 now), have a ton of time and $$$ into this one to get it set up how I want, and am pretty sure I'll not go through that again.

Although, I could see the attraction of a Tundra when I get older and am not quite so adventurous and a larger truck won't hinder my explorations at that age. We'll see. If that happens, someone will get a pretty sweet and nicely set up, fairly low mileage 2017 Tacoma!

    Work in progress...
I got half a mind to give this 2017 away on a new Colorado but I am trying to hold out. Right now the dealers are selling those Colorados before they even get them on the lot.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
Yeah. I used to say that and I do keep my vehicles long term, but now I accepted that they'll die at some point and maybe I'll switch interests or something cool may come out in the future that I would like to try.

I do intend to keep my current truck longer term, but I wouldn't mind switching over to a 4th gen manual if my current truck ends up being a POS or something happened to it to the point I shouldn't keep it.

The thought of buying more than one third gen floors me.

Not terrible during this time where you sometimes get even more than what you paid.
