Cps issue was fixed in like March. Small batch of them before that. To say it is a major issue is retarded smitty. Fully knowing you were in the thread where that info was disclosed.

Read a thread yesterday about someone who helped a guy with a '17 broken down on side of interstate. Sounded like CPS issue. Doubt its gone as a problem. We'll know over the next several months.

To say it is not a safety issue to suddenly lose power on an interstate is sillly.

Ahh I don't like that, my truck was scheduled to be built on a Friday, they moved it to the following Monday, I wonder if I can request they wait till Tuesday or Wednesday.

Just another release of your Taco anger, man you really need to seek help with this anger

I think the issues are "quality control" related. Toyota uses a platter of contract manufacturers; many in China. Now, there is nothing wrong with the Chinese manufacturing, in fact they are arguably the best in the world, but they must be managed and held accountable. I traveled the eastern seaboard of China, qualifying factories, for a new product family I was working on. My company has quality control standards that must be met. During a factory audit, if these quality "control" measures are not implemented, we don't use the contract manufacturer. Then, if we use the factory, it is OUR responsibily to assure they are following the standards. As The Tacoma is the final manufactured product, and Toyota is the company producing it, the quality control standards and methods rest on Toyota and Toyota alone. The contract manufacturers are responsible to follow Toyota's procedures, but Toyota is ultimately responsible to us.

I hear that the Ford F150 EcoBoost is a great truck for a reasonable price

no I love my truck, im just giving unhappy Toyota 3rd gen owners a viable option, ive owned 4 Toyota trucks and 3 new and this one used and they all had quirks that either I or the dealer had to iron out and then these trucks clocked over 200k plus miles without issues. also all automatic transmissions search gears, now that you have a six speed trans its more gears to search as opposed to a 4 speed, its a truck not a space craft. so you all can put on your big girls panties and get them probs ironed out

Well maybe you can ask Toyota to explain why it's so hard to fix these problems: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...oise-howling-when-feathering-throttle.442341/

No, that's not how it works. In fact, Toyota didn't make a lot of things on the Tacoma. But it, 100% without a doubt, is Toyota's responsibility to oversee ALL of their suppliers quality and sign off on the fact that the supplier's product is safe and meets the Toyota standard.

You can't solely blame Toyota, but it is as much of Toyota's fault as it is the supplier. Outsourcing doesn't rid them of responsibility, it only adds additional levels of quality control.

why didn't you research all these parts outsourcing (you say)quality control issues(you say) before you bought it, sounds like you got a shitty dealership and it has shitty customer service and mechanics suck(welcome to the club) and blame it on the truck

I have no idea what you're trying to say.

Is it that you don't believe Toyota outsourced a bunch of parts for the truck? Because they did. They don't design every seal, sensor, airbag, AC system, etc.

Is it that you think I alluded to major quality control issues? I simply said that Toyota is responsible for supplier quality as well, which they are.

I thankfully found a great dealership with what seems like a very knowledgeable service team to work with the issues on my truck. The dealership has nothing to do with the issues that showed up from day 1, fresh off the truck from the manufacturing line.

I, as a customer, shouldn't have to research all the outsourced parts. I'm buying a truck from Toyota. They should be able to put out a quality product, stand behind their product and live up to the reputation which is reflected in the price tag.
