its not bad on the rough stuff, but im not always hitting it hard. im thinking about going with a 400-450# tender coil. either 4 or 6" to soften up the light running, and maybe keep the 600, possibly go down to a 550 main coil. what length coil are you running ?

I'm running a 18" coil on a 8" RR fox shock. Do you have a 4banger or 6? And do you have a tube bumpr or anything?

After months of procrastinating I finally hooked my place up to support my 240v welder to continue working on my truck myself instead of shop time.

So the rear of my truck sat a tad stink bug so I pulled the truck in the garage and fabbed up some 10" shackles to replace the 12"'s I am running. I have Deaver F67's and already pulled 2 leafs so i didnt want to pull anymore out to drop it. I could have added more preload to my front suspension but that would have done two things 1) increased my spring rate and 2) reduce my droop (down) travel. neither which I wanted to do because my front seems pretty good as it sits. here is my shackles next to the 12"s.

    and mounted...

I used 1.5" .120 wall DOM tubing mocking the 12" design and material but shortened. I welded everything together using .30 solid wire and 75% argon to 25% Carbon Dioxide.

they came out pretty good, it lowered my truck to the height I wanted BUT... at a neutral on its own weight the shackles angle is about 45/50% back (which is great) but are 1" from hitting the underside of my frame rail. I hit a road dip pretty hard to see if it would tap the frame and it does. Im going to throw those two leafs I pulled out back in the pack and cross my fingers this will give the leaf pack that extra spring rate and clearance I need. I built and installed these 10" shackles knowing I would go back to the 12"s once I finished the rear of my truck (boxing the frame, finishing my dual spare mount, more tube bracing, jack and mount) these things would def give me the weight I need to replace the 12"s to be at the ride height and forward to rear weight balance Im looking for. I was going to weld on my VHF antenna mount and more front skid plate braces but I figured I have a drink and veg out for the rest of the day. more updates to come....

on a side not holy crap a bottle and shielding gas is insane. $225 bucks for both and I only got a size 60!!! I remember in Washington a size 80 rental and gas was only $60 bucks.

It was awesome, great weather. We spent most of the time messing around with the bypasses
