I called, my deductible is $1000 I even went to the police station and got about 5 incident reports to validate my story, I got the tires for $209 each and the wheels for $176 each, so if I were to replace this side it would be $764

Oh man :( This is terrible.
I'm about set to order those same wheels. Your truck looked pretty sweet, hope you get it back to the pre-paint state soon!

I'm not sure why you would waste time at the police station in a situation like this. It's not like you can charge the other person for driving through the paint and splashing you. And even the dude that dropped the paint. It didn't directly hit you.

I would have gotten right to finding a way to clean the paint off , I recommend trying wd40.

I would try Simple green on the tires and wheels. I don't know if it would work, but I have tons of that stuff in my garage and it removes tons of stuff that I wouldn't think it would. So now its my first go to.

Its definitely not the guys fault for driving through the paint puddle. Its called the cost of doing business. That paint should come off with some elbow grease. its probably latex house paint and not well bonded.

The paint may eventually flake off the tires - the flexing of the sidewalls should break down the paint's bond. You could always try scrubbing with a product like Soft Scrub (without bleach) - that should help.

For your wheels, alcohol (not the drinking kind ;) ) is good for removing dried latex paint. Try it on a small part of the wheel, to ensure the alcohol does not damage the finish - it shouldn't but check to be sure.

For the body, a clay bar will remove the paint fairly easily.

That really sucks - it is too bad some people are real clueless a$$holes...

Try goof off on the tires and rims. Not the oil based stuff that smells really strong, but the water based in the spray bottle.

Call a pressure washing company and have them spray it with a hot water pressure washer.

It'll melt right off. Probably cost you $50.

Any detail shop should be able to fix you up right as well, you just have to be willing to hand over your truck for a bit to give them time to fix the damage.

Dammit, I hate seeing this. My first question was "is it latex paint?" but after reading that you've already attempted pressure washing and its not coming off the wheels, my assumption is its oil based paint which as a detailer myself, is a nightmare to remove.

You're going to have to try a solvent to remove the paint or wetsanding; I really don't see any other choice if its not coming off with high pressure water. Try 3000 - 5000 grit sand paper and wet sand the affected area. You might get results this way but its of course going to effect the black paint. That could be polished to bring back the shine, but with it being matte........eeeesh.

Very sorry to hear this. Again as a detailer this is a nightmare situation to me so I feel you paint man.
