Specifically dog fart. Sometimes it smells like mildew as well.

I've tried multiple sprays into the cowl and nothing has helped. My cabin air filter is basically brand new. No idea what to do, because I can't stand the smell and it's making me sick.

Only happens when drawing air in from the outside, but even on recirc it still stinks. Either some mildew has gathered somewhere, or someone is farting into my truck as I drive. (Not me.)

I've already tried Lysol, I don't know what else to try.

Mice love the soy based foam inside the air intake. Pull the cabin air filter out of the glove box and stick your hand up inside the cavity to see if something is in there. Could be a dead rodant. Also, you can pull the plastic trim up on the passenger side around the wiper stalk and look down into the intake. Could be leafy debris in there.

Other than that, make sure the ac drain is running and isn't blocked up.

I ended up with a nest hidden up in there. Couldn't see it just by looking into where the air filter is. Had to feel up in there and pull it out with my fingers. Fortunately no actual dead mice. I put metal screen over the intake and haven't had a problem since. They did get most of the foam against the firewall in the engine bay though.

Check the ac drain too. If it is plugged with gunk you could have shitty water brewing in there. You should have wet spots in your driveway if ac or defrost are on. If not, you'll have to probe the drain with a coat hanger or wire and see what comes out.

The AC drain is clear, I had an ongoing AC/water leak issue for like six months and all of that stuff has been cleared. The truck perpetually just stinks anyways after my water leak issues, even with a new carpet.

Take the blower out and and take the windshield cowel off. I bet there is some leaves and stuff rotting in there :) Trash off all sorts gets up in there by the outside air intake.

Lol, my blower was acting up and I heard a clicking coming from the blower one day, was like great! Guess I'll be changing the blower this weekend. Took it apart... Jam packet with leaves and debris.

I bought a can of this, tried to put the hose through the drain, but no luck. How did you spray the can into the evaporator for the Tacoma? Thanks
