Hey nice set-up! I was thinking about getting the alpine HU as well, hence how i was navigated to your thread! Quick question, will it hook up with no additional 'add-ons' to the stock back up cam? Also, do you know if it will hook up to the aux port to the right of the cig lighter? Thanks a lot!:D

Well my hu isn't hooked up to my camera...I want to hook it up eventually. And as for the aux goes, I wouldn't use the stock AUX port. Just route your AUX to the center console or the glove box. It's much better than showing wires!

Hmmm, I assume that you need to buy some sort of adapter. I don't know about you, but when I hook mine up I want my rear view mirror camera to remain functional.

Oh most definately. I was kinda hoping it would just hook up so you could like use the back up cam even if you werent in reverse. sometimes I just want to look behind me when im chilling in my truck, I thought it'd be cool to just flip the cam interface and be able to have it turn on. You most likely are probably right. Ill do some research about it and post again!

YES! That would be so cool to use the cam moving FORWARD! Get back to me on that one. I might just drop by the local shop today, if I finish my 5 page midterm in time. :anonymous:

Haha yes, but good luck getting your midterm done! I've searched the internet tacoma sites...the only thing I found was on toyotanation.com with someone who did a thread about HU install help, it was about your alipine unit. He was having issues bypassing the video thing, and he also mentioned about hooking up his cam to it, but it'd only come up black...so...maybe its not possible...but if you can check at your local shop that'd be awesome. I'll still research it a bit more, if I get some time ill even try to call alpine. Let me know if you find anything!

Where'd you get the HU surround with the stock texture? I haven't been able to find any of the textured ones yet, just the stock color, but with the smooth surface.

I absolutely love the flush xclosures, but they don't have enough space for my x sub. Car Tunes in Seaside made it for me. I payed $500. It's a rip off I know, I bought my whole stereo impulsively over the summer when I was workin 40hrs a week. It sounds fuckn awesome though!

Go to *********.com They have them there. I actually kinda prefer the none-textured one by scosche but thats totally your call. ********* is a pretty awesome site with some good stuff. heres a link to the dash units.
    http://shop.*********.com/category.sc?categoryId=14

thats for the 05-09 models, auxillary cab, if you have something different, you can locate them as well.

The only problem with ********* is they want your first born for one. 75 bucks! Give me a break. They throw in a 5 dollar tool kit and try to rip people off! You can find the double din and harness elsewhere for under 30- easy

    Heres one for 24

just do a search for metra double din. I have the textured that is made by them. I got mine from Crutchfield. I think it is 25.00 or free if you get HU from them.
