I've only been there once, and that one time I had to wait almost 2 hrs. JUST for an oil change I roll by there all the time, most times at night, they had to tone down their HUGE ass light sign. I remember when that used to SHINE!!!!!! I MEAN SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!! surprised no one would crash from that damn thing

 

Really? My last oil change took 25 mins there

lol I know right? I'm used to using 1/4" thick tabs at the least (but that's mainly for bag and link mounts/etc.).
correct, there isn't much stress being placed on the uca's, just pivoting, which is up and down and it's not much either at that, unless your bagged/juiced. all the stress is being put on the lca, strut, coil and tower since the ground is where you pretty much get all that stress from - pot holes, dips, bumps, etc.

 

i can understand the drop, but those tires are just to little, just look silly

otherwise great work, very interesting learning about how drops are done, and to see that your taking the ultimate plunge

 

NICE!!!!!!! 40's imo are choice. 50's are FREAKING LOUD!!!!!! I used to have one on my old Blazer, didn't even bother adding in the rest of the tubing, I would set off car alarms left and right just starting the engine! Cops HATED me lol, eventually got a fix it ticket (office was nice enough to say an odd occurrence happened to my muffler). Debating on getting a nice 40 or just hacking the OE tube to where the axle is so you don't see it.

 

lol thanks, if you think that's to small, get a load of the 225/35/18 tires, them things ARE rubber bands!!!!! for me, the ultimate plunge is bagging it or putting in a hybrid set-up (uses hydraulic and airbag suspension), this is just to keep me busy for the mean time. BUT I SURE do miss bobbling around in traffic ... OH how I miss that

that's NOT bad at all!! I'm going to have to add that to my list of things to do now lol. I REALLY think the tail pipe poking out is EXTREMELY FUGLY. like this one piece that no one didn't have any idea of where to place, but it HAD to be on there, and they just said f' it and just placed it there.

 

*forgot to mention this - with the washers, I don't think it matters much about the OD (outside diameter) than it does with the ID (inside diameter). When I was shopping for washers at OSH I noticed that the 5/8" and 3/4" washers only difference was the ID. OD was about/is the same.

 

have to add this to my to do list!! like how you went about doing it, if I get clout about it here, I can just replace it with the stock on like nothing AND sell the 40 off as a kit

 

update is - took off my secondary air filter, HUGE difference!!!! before I used to feel it lacking on acceleration, now with the aFe filter and the secondary gone, it feels like there's more power and I get speed quick!

Well, its not so much thetires as the tire/rim combination, they just dont really fill otu the wheel well enough ya know?

 

I haven't noticed that yet, today was the first day of me driving it like that and OMG I'm SO PISSED AT TOYOTA all this time I was wasting gas when I COULD have been saving it. ORGASMED when I got this done and drove it out an hour or so ago!!!

IT DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It saddens me how Toyota tried to jip people off like that.
I KNOW RIGHT!!!!! lol had I done this sooner I would have bought WAY more lowering parts. I didn't even have to drill out the rivets. I just snapped then with a small flat head screw driver.

 

Nice work man, the drop looks good. I will probably be doing what you did on the front pretty soon. When I have more time I'm going to read through this thread again to see if you had any luck finding the right bolts.

 

true. when I bag it, I am going to change to 19's and have it lay frame. for now I'm happy with them, plus it's fun to see the look of surprise on peoples faces when then find out those are nissan rims

 

those tires are way too small. this is what it would look like. lol
