My attempt @ a 2 to 3 drop ... ... more or less...

drop work has been put to a halt, raining here and there. getting annoying trying to plan out a day and on that day it rains :/ doing interior mods only now till Summer hits ... which I am hoping I won't see any rain like it is going now.

sad part is ... ... I have more than half of what I need to bag it too (front and rear are holding me back - strut bags up front, want to do a bolt on 3 link wish bone for the rear)

 

Strut bags? Why not just use bags and make some shock mounts? Does anyone make a bolt on 3 link for our trucks?

 

can't do any cutting/welding to the frame right now. going for performance this time (simple front/back and pancake - side to side and three wheel was something I liked doing when I was on wires and was running more psi, already put some wires on lol, almost shot myself in the head). not that I know of but considering that there are 4 link parts and DIY wishbone kits out there it's just as simple (unless you don't know what your doing or how to weld). Make shifting an axle bracket is somewhat easier said than done but your still able to do it, from there it's just the simple measuring/pinion angle as you would with any link set-up. as for bag placement, trying to keep the shocks to the side rails and the bags (going to be using F9000's) ... pretty much replicating the S10 bolt on air bar that ride tech made but putting a little spin on it.


as for now ... I have to play the extremely long waiting game (student loans went up to $600 a month )

 

I gottcha about the front, makes sense. I thought in the last post you meant that you knew of a company that offered it. As far as I knew no one did. Which I think is cool because it limits how many bagged 2nd gens are out there.

 

ah I see. I wish there was a company that did (real companies NOT AIM)
I see some on youtube BUT they don't seem to show the link system they are using, they don't do much either (lift back ... walk around or not even a walk around, then dump, lift ... end of video)

x2. good thing I don't really need to see much. For the most I already have it all planned out, but every now and then I tend to change things up. but for the most it stays the same, mainly bag placement changes which I tend to want to play hard lol

 

I'm the same way, I already know that I want to do a wishbone 4 link to keep the stock gas tank where it is and have the bags on the lower bars. Up front I dream about having some MMW arms with the jeebus joints. Just a matter of money

 

same boat as you. if I had the funds I would have bought mine and already started on the suspension. for now I'm going to keep to finishing the interior and some ext. areas. hopefully by then I'll have enough for the rest of my parts and for some needed tools.

dope! those look like a perfect fit! almost exact same extended/compressed lengths as the QA1's im running.

 

*fingers crossed, should be though. as of now my OE shocks are extended to 17" or so, and with 8" of travel I should be good on leveling and not bottoming out the shock.

 

well not much to report/update. reinstalled my audio (bass only). been trying to workout more, but will be tinkering with the springs soon (going to buy some cut off wheels hopefully next week), then looking for some 2" angled blocks ... a little worried although curious to how much camber will happen.

 

also decided to not go with the air shocks. going with the AOL with some Air Tech (I think that's the name) bags - similar to the Firestone 7012's (supposed to be the replacements) to soften up the ride in the back.

 

swapped washer location and added in another set of washers for the .25" drop. feels MUCH better BUT not done lol. hopefully by this Sat. a friend of mine will help me with the coil spring cutting. Also had to replace a bag, broke the mounting part

 

got these done today, was EASY, spring wasn't that thick to cut or anything. Just going with 1" though, when I put in the extra .25" it made a difference. Think it's more level this way, so now just going by inches.

 

I will be grinding the ends smooth and attempting to get in a semi angle to the top so that it rests inside the spring pocket like it did before .. sort of ... from there will see if I need to lift the UCA up an inch to compensate for the camber. Working on getting the rear done also.

 

finished grinding the top ends. going to see about painting the spring HOK Orange now.
