So my stock grill has been cracked for some time and I decided after seeing a bunch of them on here to make a satoshi/metal mesh type grill for my truck. This was my first time ever working with bondo, and was definitely done under less then optimal conditions with not the best tools, but I got it done and am pretty pleased with the look of it.
I cut out the center section of the stock grill, used a metal mesh patch on the sides where I cut it out, bondoed and sanded over that, painted it black, then cut the metal mesh black and mounted it with adhesive zip tie mounts. Fairly easy DIY project

Nice! How long did it take you? And where did you buy the mesh?

I didn't really pay attention to the timing, probably a few hours start to finish.
Bought the metal from a place called "metal supermarkets" they cut any size you want of various metals, the sheet I got only cost me $13, super cool folks to deal with

Looks good. I'd throw an old school "TOYOTA" emblem in there

What bondo did you use? Are there different types?

Agreed, I think that would look good. I think it's a little empty looking with nothing

I don't know if there are different types, it was bondo brand body filler bought at harbor freight. Like 11.99 for a decent size can of it

I wonder if you could get a big font 'TACOMA' in there like the second/third genners do.

I was also just thinking about mounting the factory Toyota emblem in the center since I already have it. Thoughts?
