Absolutely Frightening! To awaken in the middle of the night by your dog barking and your backyard is on fire. Especially when you live next to a creek full of trees and bushes. Well, not my backyard, technically the property of the school next to me. The property they never, ever maintain citing budget problems! Hopefully this lights a fire under their ass! (sorry bad pun) It is a scary feeling to be standing in your backyard in the middle of the night in pitch darkness wearing only shorts with the hose on full blast praying for the fire department to get there. Thank you fire dept. This could have been really bad. You know its funny what you say you would do and what you actually do in certain stressful situations because I was stammering to 911 and could hardly walk/run out of sheer panic!

So what you're saying is you don't do well in high stress situations? Lol
    Future reference:
a wet bath towel being flatly smacked on the flames worked pretty dang good!

We have a lot of tweekers in the creeks but I thought I was far enough up the hill they wouldn't make it. I walked all over the property and didn't see any evidence BUT I swear when I ran out of the house talking to 911 that I heard voices and foot steps. Just glad I'm not on the news. The real hero here is Mr. Dusty Bottoms-

Well done Mr. Dusty Bottoms, well done. You deserve a full people food meal ( or at least plenty of left overs ) and well deserved play time followed by long undisturbed nap.
