Awesome. Do you have a kit already? I'll get some pics. They're unmounted 4.5" glassworks that I think low range still has in stock. They've been on a garage for awhile. A kid rolled his truck before he had a chance to put them on his truck.

I'm going out to Scottsdale in December.

And I finally saw what your avatar is from - one of my students likes that game - it made me laugh when I saw it.

I've done a mod or two
For me it is between the SOLO and the MCM Fab, but leaning toward MCM Fab, for the wheeling I enjoy I don't need crazy 16" and 17" travel lengths in the front. I just want a bit more travel and the extra cushyness. No matter what I'll use ADS coilovers in the front. For the rear I am going to try and run 14" resi double bypasses by going through the bed. I am working up a rear shock tower that will give me lots of bed room but still be stong. Might go outside the frame, but the rear will be entirely my own creation (wanna do SUA with 64" or 65" leafs)

Right on. They're both good values - solo's regular kit is only $2950 with extended axles.

Yeah, and that matches the MCM Fab kit pretty close in price when you consider the cost of coilovers. I am not quite right in the head though so I am considering their XLT kit because, if I'm gonna spend the money why not go all out, plus the beefy lower uniball and upper uniball is nice for piece of mind. Still can easily run ADS too.

Yep the beefiest beef you can buy for $6k lol. Then there's the need for shock hoops and mas cutting lol. Yeah I think any 10" coilover will work with the kit. I'm thinking about it too - especially now that I got a used set of springs and shackles for $350 for the rear too keep me good back there until the next round of upgrades with an ultra wide axle etc.

@Speedytech7 DTF said he'd take an order for a first gen 4x4 kit with lower uniballs early next year. It would be 3.5" over he said.

Put the new solid motor mounts on and put the engine in the bay. I wanted to have it bolted to something to get the fliywheel and clutch installed, plus the crank bolt needs to be torqued and I thought it would be easier to have the engine bolted down for that. It felt good to have an engine back in there, even if it's not permanent yet!

I picked up my glass today. I won't need my other set if one of you guys are interested - Zane like I said I'll be going to AZ in December and I could bring them with. Here's the old ones:

Stopped by Advanced Fiberglass Concepts and spoke with the new owner. He seems like a real go-getter.

They're in Costa Mesa, but he's thinking of moving out to Riverside because fiberglass companies have a bad rep in OC I guess.

He explained that even though they hand lay their glass, a lot of companies use a sprayer involved in the process that blows a lot of waste material and therefore they're guilty by association as being a fiberglass company. It would be cheaper rent, but the commute will be tough - he's a full time student at CSULB.

You know what they say about a guy with big fenders - clean doors ;)

Got hit with a last minute research proposal from school so Thanksgiving week will not be used to wrench on the Bean. It sits alone and untouched while my keyboard gets smashed on :p
