Here's something that will help out a lot.

For paint I used krylon satin black paint + primer from Walmart. Looked like this...

Just remember when you preheat the oven to turn it off and place the headlights on a piece of cardboard and let it sit for at least 10min. Don't be scared to leave it in for 10-12min because I would take it out after 5 minutes and the seal didn't really melt. So I kept sticking it back in the oven. The second headlight was much easier. I left it in for about 12minutes and the headlight came apart really easy. Just remember when you preheat the oven for the second headlight remove the cardboard when the oven is on. I almost burned my house down lmao. Place it back when the oven is off and place your headlight on top of the cardboard. Good luck!

Primer is a wasted step if you use Krylon Fusion on plastic. That's the whole reason the paint was designed after all to paint plastic w/o the use of primers. Shouldn't even need to scuff the surface either. The key is making sure that the surface is cleaned of all grease from fingers and debris. A 100% clean surface will go much further in paint durability and long-term adhesion than primer or scuffing if you use Fusion.

Yeah they didn't have "fusion" In satin black at Walmart. They're all out so I grabbed the paint + primer krylon can which is 2 in 1 so I actually didn't waste a step? Also I didn't sand or scuff my headlight housing. I just made sure it was clean.

I did this on my old Frontier - will definitely do it on my new Taco. Try setting the light on a baking sheet and wet (not dripping) towel while in the oven, its a little less flammable than cardboard :)

The black chrome is lighter and is actually made out of plastic and is an entire OEM light housing where as the BHLM is actually stock all chrome headlights taken apart and painted with spray paint and put back together :)
