been looking through everyone's builds and sticky threads etc. lol...my brain is fried. having a hard time choosing a suspension. im pretty sure im gonna stay away from any drop bracket lift so my issue only lies in which 3" lift to go with. the truck will see offroad driving maybe 6-12 times a year with some of that being beach driving. i dont have a limited budget so whatever it costs me to get a "stockish" feeling ride or better is what id like to go with. i dont do any towing but may start towing my motorcycle, which would be less than 1000lbs i would say, so that wont be much of a factor in my decision. my truck is a 4x4 btw...forgot to mention.

i know i dont want to get anykind of spacers up top...id like the full coil or coilover assembly. also like to stay away from the rear blocks. which would ride better in the rear, AAL or a full Leaf like Dakar? im gonna be staying with a 32" or 33" tire combo so nothing outrageous.

vibrations are another concern of mine which id like to not have to worry about even before they come up so if theres something i can do to ensure no vibrations, id like to know that aswell.

so the easy question for everyone to answer...if you had $3k to spend and could redo your suspension within that budget to get better ride quality on and off road...what would you pick out and piece together?

Hey man I know what your going through ! I was there myself! Breath a little and relax ;) Since your not going to be going crazy off-road then I would recommend what I have Old man Emu! Grab the kit from wheelers or toytec wherever you get a better deal! I have 885 coils with Sport nitros 9000 and a 1/4 spacer (does not affect the ride just give it a full 3" lift) and dakars in the back with 60021 sport nitros, make sure you get some UCA i have total chaos and there awesome! throw in a trimm packer for driver side lean and a driveline carrier bearing drop kit and your set! You can go coilovers but for that much off roading kinda expensive ! And yes this setup rides awesome and looks awesome no vibrations no weird sounds just awesomeness !

I think $3k buys a lot. If you're tossing that kind of money out, replace the leaf pack altogether and don't get an AAL.

Lots to absorb for sure, just ask lots of questions and I'm sure you'll get heaps of answers to help you figure it out. I've had great experiences with Wheeler's Offroad and Headstrong Offroad, and Chas of MRT has a pretty huge following on TW also, among many other vendors.

I ordered the OME system was well but with 90021 front shocks because i was advised but toytec they are softer because as my DD and commuter ride comfort was a priority. Toytec was by far the cheapest I could find and if you look in the group buy section they have a discount code you can use for, I think, 5% off

    thanx for the replies guys.

wouldnt getting coil overs avoid having to get a "trim packer" for the lean?? you'd just be able to adjust the coil over accordingly right?

ive read mixed reviews on the carrier bearing drop...alot of "NOs" and only a few "yes's". i think i would be more inclined to adjust the pinion angle on the rear before doing a carrier drop....thoughts?

Hi guys, does this OME complete kit also need aftermarket UCAs (or anything else)?

UCAs are a nice-to-have, if you don't have the extra cash right now you can wait. They add articulation. I'd recommend getting extended brake lines & a bpv relocator.

For 3k you could buy an icon kit, UCAs and a leaf pack for less than that.

true...but would they necessarily give me a better ride than OME kit or toytecs? i dont mind spending the money on anything as long as i know im making the right decision for the truck. i love the Icon stuff but if its overkill for a "street Queen" than ill spend less on something else and put the differance in money i save for other parts. however if the Icons are hands down the best ride quality on and off the road, ill spend the coin.

UCAs will get replaced regardless of lift i do...that wont be a question. leaning towards the Camburg units on that end.

I was looking at Icon but saw some guy on here complaining that his Stage IV kit rusted quickly.

UCAs correct the low camber problem associated with this style of lift.

Yes. I would do carrier bearing drop for peace of mind.
UCA's are not needed however for better alignment they are suggested.
Ultimately up to you, the OME kits is really nice and rides nice and for me like you 90% street its amazing.

I would go fox again over ome again, have experience with both.. So i suggest fox fronts coil overs in the 2.0 non resi and matching rear shocks. For leafs i liked my dakars a lot, get 2-3 deg shims on there with them for vibe concerns and if possible get one dakar with a '+' and one with a '-' then place them with the minus on the right, this would be the most ideal way to deal with the taco lean. As for control arms pick the ones you prefer.

ok...so if i were to go with the OME kit and i dont use the spacers for the front struts (to get a full 3" lift)...how much will the lift be 2.5"?

if i were to go with say a Icon stage 2 kit...add some Dakar rear leafs and a carrier bearing drop and some UCAs...is there anything id be missing and should consider?
