All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Looks great Keith. Mileage is what it is, just don’t have a lead foot is about as good as it gets.

I regeared mine due to having a lot of weight and towning my trailer at times. I did get a slight mpg gain, but then again it not enough to change how I build things. Mainly wanted the truck to stop downshifting as much.

Very stoked to see this kick off!

On a side note, I know you mentioned you retired from enforcement. Do you know of anything special that happened yesterday regarding State Troopers. It was a mad house everywhere in my town up here in NC. Saw a lot of flags at half staff. It was an abnormally large gathering.

It’s crazy that you mentioned re-gearing as I was just looking into that. I need to get new tires and want to put 35s on the Tundra and on the mod list is re-gearing to 5.29.

I just got home from a weekend visiting friends. I'll get more photos and videos in the next day or two. I had a friend over tonight who is also a Tacoma owner and a much bigger car person than I am...he was in love with my truck and the quality of the work they did.

Sorry! I don't know what was going on. It sounds a lot like a ceremony for a fallen officer.

Indeed. The officer’s wound weren’t critical. What I observed was them ripping down the the road bringing him back home in a large caravan.

I like it...it feels good. I feel like it's a little tall, though. I had a friend measure his ground clearance to the frame at the door, and mine is a solid 5 inches taller. He thinks I'm crazy and that the clearance is fine. Adam said that the leaf springs should settle about an inch within 500 miles, and I can lower the front coilovers a little if I want to, but I have to be careful not to go too far because of the size of the tires. The only reason I think it's a bit high is because I'm a bit short!

I think this is awesome, remember you can always go back to work, can’t get any younger , there’s no mod for that.

I feel like the suspension is going to be my last ‘big’ purchase for the truck after the topper is paid for. I’m budgeting $7K with install. Looking at Fox 2.5 all around, and that alone is $5,500. Then have to get the custom leaf springs. Yikes I don’t want to think about it.

Edit: That and re-gearing and the bed build out. Which isn’t really that expensive.

Yeah, I've found it's best just not to think about it. I want it, I need it, screw it, I'm buying it.

Yeah the suspension is a major purchase, and one if not the most important. Next up is a winch.

I leave next Friday to spend 4 days in Okefenokee and then head straight from there for 5 days on Cumberland Island. And then come back and start on the interior build.

I have spent a lot of time down in the area. I am from south GA. Spent a lot of time kayaking that area. That swamp can get spooky feeling lol
