so, last January's Shoe Creek Trip where it snowed and DSully almost went flying off the mountain, I have had Engine Issues. well, I found a Engine from a 2008, with less than 33k miles on it. Both of which is better than current engine. So for $2250 shipped, I got the engine, auto transmission and Tcase (both for sale), Rear Drive shaft, ECU, and Wiring harness. I got all that back in July. Since i went TDY forever, I couldnt get started until now.

so, today me and barry started pulling everything out.

    null_zps1bc62890_09aba15bbfaf686d14ac00656caf3fa3305ad031.jpgnull_zpsc26a8667_1de95758bcc52db7648d68868440ed11c31638b2.jpg

After getting the engine out, pulled the oil pan and found some issues. after everything with truck is done, i plan on pulling the engine apart and seeing whats failed and letting go.

    null_zps0cb4f5b2_a7f1870b82131a7b40bc92f15341c8d28a13d9d4.jpg

also, decided to say fuck a new engine, this shit gonna be burry powered. Fueled by Hotdogs, mac n cheese, and Mt. Dew. also, will have on board welder :p j/k

    null_zps104b6b93_5bb54d1151c9416410f9121a43abfb8829993746.jpg

So this is where we are at right now. also, pulled the clutch off and its no anywhere near as bad as i was expecting it to be. still had decent meat on it and no major hot spots on the flywheel.

what we plan on doing from here on out is this: clean the engine bay. shit caked in oil from oil leak. Change out the Steering rack bushings. coil bucket gussets, LCA Cam Tab Gussets, spindle gussets, New twin disc clutch from URD, URD Ucon EMS, Add a leaf for Dakar leaf Pack, Shackle Flip, New higher flow Fuel pump from URD, drop the crawl box/tcase and reseal them up better and cut and bang and grind and whatever else i need to do to fit the 35x12.50's i got. Also, loving the way the bronze rims look on the truck

So today Barry and I, did some more work. Got spindle gussets welded up, swapped a few things over from old engine to new. Also installed new steering rack bushings. And bit did that suck. I couldn't imagine trying to install those with the engine still in. Was some bullshit. Tomorrow, gonna finish painting spindles and try and clean up the engine bay some more. Also found out my lca front bushings are seized so going to replace them too whenever they come in. Gonna replace the hubs since mine are looking rough. One still good, just rusty/dirty. Also gonna replace some rusty bolts here and there.

Well here some pics of the spindles.

I'd guess you'll have an easier time clearing the 35s than someone who removes it right?

My only reasoning is it holds back from flexing so the tire can't stuff as much thereby reducing the amount of cutting/chopping/hammering required
